...two or three witnesses are needed to establish a thing. Does my own witness also count?
I mean, when I believe something...
and God confirms it somehow, is that a second witness?
Amen brother. We are witnesses, as you are showing with your posts....and the scriptures that Sister brought show who other witnesses are....the Word, the Spirit, the Blood. The Blood I believe speaks of the suffering of Jesus and our suffering and bearing a cross for His sake....like Paul said he bore in his body the marks of the cross....it is a witness to the authenticity of our faith and that we belong to Him. I was just specifically speaking of the word of God as a witness....we don't establish a doctrine or truth just by one isolated passage of scripture but by the witness (confirmation) of other scriptures as well.

Justinadams....the synagogue of Satan I'm pretty sure was because the early christians were persecuted by religious Jews...which Judaism was a hybrid mixture of Babylonish beliefs and mysticism. And if it will make you feel better, the synagogue of Satan today concerns the church...a certain 'Christian' branch which is also a hybrid religion and has persecuted true believers who would not submit to her....and all indications are that she is going to again. So we see that God is no respecter of persons...that passage was not added by people with anti-semitic agendas...it is the truth, sadly.

BUT GOD IS GREATER , and he wont let no lamb get deceived by ideals of men . Now you throw up those hands sister and just holler out a praise to the LORD . You can even TYPE IT OUT if you want . OH praise the LORD . And sister , YOU RIGHT , the synagogue of satan was pointing to the unbelieving jews who persecuted JESUS , BUT YOU ALSO RIGHT , ITS ALL OVER BIG TIME ROME . HOW many has rome killed . AND SISTER , she and her daughters , WILL cause MANY to be killed AGAIN . The synagogue OF GOD , is found ONLY IN CHRIST , where both jews and gentile believers sit . THE SYNAGOGUE of satan , well its found in man , led by satan and it consists of jews and gentiles who reject the TRUE CHRIST and will persecute YET AGAIN the true lambs .

The manuscripts used for the Geneva Bible and KJV Bible were the originals being used by the church at the time. The more modern versions use the Alexandrian and Egyptian discoveries as the basis for their translation, and the only reason they are older is because they were preserved in a cave. That doesn't make the text older. If you are constantly reading from scrolls, the paper will wear out and copies must be made, which means that the paper itself used by the KJV translators will naturally not be as old as manuscripts that are not being used. The new discoveries are incomplete, likely the result of being copied hastily.

No. The Aramaic is a colloquial version of what we have already. Actually, many words in 'common parlance' are Aramaic. It is very interesting. A number of books in the Tanach are in Aramaic. It is a far more poetic language (like Hebrew) and is less clinical than Greek. That Yeshua and his immediate friends spoke Aramaic is quite well documented. Some had a smattering of Greek too. Many had a number of languages they had learned, like Saul (Paul) and most likely Luke.
The 'licence' that many in the church and the 'fathers' and Luther used are found in the gospels. They used this to kill and humiliate the Israelis. I see and feel it all around me - my dad was an Israeli.
These religious powers horribly distorted these texts and used it as a vehicle for their actions - thinking in their twisted way that they were doing the right thing. There is nothing so basically wicked as the heart of man for sure.
