JESUS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE
“I am weak but thou art strong, Jesus lead me from all wrong, I’ll be satisfied as long as I walk; let me walk close to thee”.
I love the words of this song, because it speaks of my utter dependence upon Jesus. So many times in life we have made a decision to our own detriment, but the wonderful presence of the Holy Spirit was there to lift us up. Sometimes it was through conviction, sometimes through encouragement, sometimes through a warm embrace of his supernatural love which overwhelmed us in that moment. Our response was returning to him through repentance if need be, or through trusting him again with a whole heart, or by falling in love with him all over again. The beauty of our Savior is the fact that our relationship is personal.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20
We are dead to the world with Christ. But gloriously alive to God in Christ. What links Christ and the believer is faith. This produces a union of love and a union by sacrifice. A personal union one of total dependence upon the vicarious work of the cross, of which we are born again when we lay down our lives as living sacrifices at the altar of repentance, therefore we project the love of Christ because of being loved of Christ.
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor. Ephesians 5:2
When we walk in love we also have become an offering to God; that aroma of a sweet smell of fragrance to the Lord. Christ like love touches the heart, heals relationships, restores joy, and promotes sanctity of life. To truly love Christ is to fade from your fleshly existence and embrace your spiritual born again self who is the image of Christ developing day by day in and through you. Revealing to God full disclosure of oneself as they bath their consciousness in the love of God, knowing the revelation of themselves is personal between them and God. I am so thankful that I can confide in Christ alone, that my relationship is so intimate that I walk with him and know he loves me and will guide me into all truth and restoration.
(7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
(8) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
(9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:7-9
Jesus is our advocate, our intercessor, and savoir. When we walk with him in the light of his love, in the light of his blood, and in the light of his word, our response will be an endearing love to please him. When we fall short, we have a friend in Jesus, when we confess, we have reconciliation with Jesus, when we repent we have a restoration in Jesus, we are cleansed and redeemed by the steadfast faithfulness of the love of our Lord.
Brethren, let us keep the faith today by having a total and utter dependence upon Jesus, for everything that concerns us. He will never lead us the wrong way. We must confide totally in his wisdom for our lives. Then our faith will shine as the noon day sun on blue clad sky, all whom encounter us, will encounter the Christ who lives and abides in us. Our love, faith, and joy will broadcast itself from the center of our souls to the advancement of the Kingdom of God among the Kingdoms of Men. Selah!
