BE ENCOURAGED
This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it.
(11) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
(12) Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
(13) And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13 KJV
You know I’ve been thinking a lot about the condition of the world at large, and I remember when I first came to Jesus it was bad then. God had delivered me out of a lifestyle of sin that was robbing me and eventually would have provided an early grave for me. But God in his love and providence seen something salvageable and redeemable in me, so he prepared my heart through the tragedy I was experiencing to receive him when I did. Since I gave my heart to Christ it has not always been easy, and for the most part an uphill climb and on going battle with my flesh, the devil, and the world at large. Even though many times in my spiritual life I have failed God, he still sees something salvageable and redeemable in me. I have learned so much more about life, and honestly gained a lot of wisdom about many things, but I am still on this spiritual journey learning more each day as I continue my destination to heaven.
Brethren, when I had fallen the hardest, that is when God embraced me in his loving arms, and exhorted me to get up, knock the dust off and start on the journey again. You see even though he doesn’t justify our failure or sin, when we repent with a whole heart and cry out to him, he will not refuse to hear us, he knows our heart. He then picks us up, engulfs us in his grace, infuses us again with his Spirit and sets us back on the path of righteousness. There is a song, one of the lines is “ failure is not final with the Father “. Brethren, failure is only final when we make the decision to quit based upon feelings of defeat.
Brethren if you are standing on the precipice of failure, and you are thinking about jumping into the fire of defeat below, I would encourage you today to turn back to the path of righteousness and find a place to kneel unto your Heavenly Father, and use that opportunity to turn a defeat into a victory by repenting for the self pity which goes along with defeat, by repenting for giving in to the flesh, and then by humbling yourself under the mighty hand of God and yielding to him with your whole heart. Then God will truly restore you and rekindle the fires of zeal that you need to keep going forward. Jesus came to restore the breach and the bridge of hope, healing, and the spirit of conquest. Shame is vanquished, his punishment is revoked, and his grace is shed abroad through the love he has for you.
Through Jeremiah; God was talking to the exiled Jews which had be scattered throughout the world at that time in Israel’s history. However the above passage also speaks of the nature of God, especially concerning his children, we the body of Christ have been engrafted into the branch of Israel and have become a part of God’s holy vine. He has thoughts of love, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost for us, as we journey to heaven. Those exiles needed to hear that God had not forsaken them, that even when their own rebellion had gotten them into a place of defeat, he still had plans for their victory and restoration. But; they had to seek him, call upon him, and search for him with all their heart to secure that victory and restoration.
Brethren keep the faith today by committing and recommitting your faith in a God who is able to restore you and bless you with vitality, victory, and vigilance to keep going forward no matter what battle may lie ahead of you, because he has called us to be more than conquers through Christ Jesus who loved us and gave himself for us. He will sustain us as long as we are wholly dependent upon him. Selah!
