I was going to write something else , but I was suddenly led to write this instead . We all need to be sure we do this . We do not ever once , want to speak into the ears of another about one without having FIRST tried to correct that person . Many do this and it is not the pattern JESUS taught . an example , and this is ONLY an example , Let us say I was in error on something , say my approach was wrong . And then instead of telling me this , some started talking amongst themselves about me . This would be all wrong . Now this is only an example . But we need to be diligent about this . If we see error , we correct the person , WE DO not talk about them behind their back. This is how divisions , wrong kinds of divisions begin . And we need to be our brothers keeper . When I see error I correct error for the good of the other person . Our desire should be FOR THEM . If they wont hear , THEN we take the next step . The enemy is all about , doing all to deceive. And we all need good reminders of pure exhortations at all times . When I don't agree with something someone says , I have told them . What we ought NOT to do is say nothing . And everyone is all a member of HIS BODY . Thus if we even think we see error , we should clear it up fast . Most times it will simply be misunderstandings . But if they are not cleared up , minds can become against a person . So we should have an examination day today . None of us should be so highminded we think we should be above any examination . So I will go first . Does anyone here think my approach is wrong in any way . If so you need to explain what it is , for its what we do for one another , WE LOOK out for one another . So I will also say I have seen wonderful approaches in truth here from most all. the only ones I worry about , but are not saying they don't believe in God , are those who always want to bring things from other books . Now this is no attack . its just I truly believe if we stick only in the bible , things get cleared up very fast . So , does anyone here think my approach is wrong . If so explain . I only say this because we never want the wrong type of division to ever separate us out .

We should have an all out testimony of what our hearts believe . So I will go first . I truly believe if we truly have the LOVE that comes from GOD shed on our hearts , THEN we will LOVE TRUTH , CHRIST , above everything . Their will just be a pure wisdom , a pure love for truth on our hearts . When we see JESUS sayings about all things , even remarriage , swearing , not to resist evil or anything We will just LOVE the TRUTH . Their will be nothing in our heart that desires to go around any of his sayings , just a love FOR HIS sayings . His sayings will actually be light and easy to bear and joy will fill our hearts as by the Spirit we simply follow and obey Christ . We will not fear loss, we will not fear death , and if some among us are fearful , we will show and tell them , remind them their is ONLY Hope in CHRIST . JESUS will be our all in all, and our desire will be upon HIM above everything else . I truly believe that lusts can enter in and will choke this love right out of us . And this is why so often the early church warned and reminded , stirred up by way of reminding , of remembrance , of exhorting daily lest anyone did become hardened through the deceitfulness of sin . I believe its the work of Grace that was at work in them . I believe it was the Spirit doing as CHRIST had done on earth , and doing it through the memebers . that by this work of grace and each gift one has been given , they by the SPIRIT will build up the body by these gifts and reminders . To keep the lambs sharp, to keep them reminded , pointing ONLY to JESUS as the ONE who saves and keeps his own . I truly believe that the entertainments of this world will choke out the first love , it will choke out the pure word , the truth from those whose focus becomes on the contrary things of the world , on self , or on anything that exalts itself against GOD . I believe no matter how much we know , WE need to be reminded daily of what we already know . I believe this keeps us sharp and by HIS grace keeps us and the ones we remind both edififed . I believe we need to let go of all earthen distractions , and just put all affections above on HIM with all the heart . Let us place no hope in politics and man . Let us just fully expect persecutions and tribulations will simply come . And that through this , We will still have all hope , all joy and we will abound IN HIM and BY HIM . Let the whole heart , let the eye be single , heavenly with all hopes above on Him .

I only say this because we never want the wrong type of division to ever separate us out . I'm not sure what you mean by "your approach", brother. I don't personally have any objections to your approach in your interactions with me or think you've been out of line in that way from a Biblical perspective. I haven't read everything you've ever posted here so I can't say anything about your interactions with others, except for what I have read; and of that nothing that I can recall was out of order according to the Scriptures' teachings about how Christians are to deal with error or disagreements. I can't speak for others, just myself. Correctness of approach and correctness of belief or doctrine are two different things. Having a Scripturally correct approach to presenting information or correcting the same doesn't necessarily mean that what that person is saying is correct, even if his or her approach is. There is a right approach to dealing with differences of opinion and personal conviction or doctrine according to how the Scriptures teach us to do these things, and every true believer must also be led by the Spirit in what he or she says and how. If you're acting according to those two things, as I hope all of the believers here are striving to do, I don't see any problem. Correcting error is Scriptural. Using the Scriptures as the basis for one's correction of error and the teaching and defense of God's truth is Scriptural. Speaking the truth in love is Scriptural. Disfellowshiping proven heretics and Christians who are living in willful sin is Scriptural. Telling people what they want to hear is not Scriptural. Gossiping about or slandering people is not Scriptural. Letting your brother or sister who has strayed from the truth wander over a cliff without intervening is not Scriptural. Intentionally sowing discord among brothers is not Scriptural. (Etc.)

Let me start by declaring what I truly believe in my soul...
Christians are caught between two kingdoms: one of truth and light, the other of abject depravity. These kingdoms have nothing in common. They are inverse, opposite, in every way and on every level. The human world's method of doing anything -- anything at all -- should be our sign that God's way is the other way. Jesus came to rescue us from this human world, not to make us happier therein. When we copy the world on any point in our Christian work, we are introducing poisonous values and methods that will do harm to the body. Our goal in this life as a human Christian is to divorce ourselves from the world and get worldly influence out of our souls.
The things presented to us in this human life -- jobs, money, friendships, etc -- are object lessons to help us see how to behave like Jesus. All of these daily social transactions will either sharpen our Christlike behavior or reinforce worldly behavior. Every conversation, every decision, every move we make in this life should be seen as a chance to develop Christlike character. The Bible tell us what this character should look like. It is our duty to study the Bible, figure out what we're being told to do, and go execute it as consistently and effectively as possible.
Two big themes I see in the Bible, as far as Christlike behavior, are perfect love and servanthood. Perfect love is right, honest, sober, sacrificial, and rational. Exuberant bursts of emotional impulse are not love. Being "nice" is not love. Real love is about a choice to think and act a certain way. When we find ourselves unable to produce this perfect love, we must choose to surrender to the power of the Holy Spirit that He may produce it in us. As we grow in this process, we must hold our Christian brethren in the highest esteem, and see ourselves as servants helping them achieve God's plan in their lives.
Every true believer in Jesus will make it to heaven -- but I believe those who made more progress in their loving and serving will be better positioned to jump in as leaders in God's heavenly kingdom.

There's only one thing I would caution against here at Narrow Way (and I say this as a reminder to myself as well). Fellowship must be at the heart of a Christian group. Not soapboxing or monologuing or taking the role of a self-appointed teacher. Not just cruising in to drop off the latest manifesto that occurred to you and then disappearing with no effort to encourage anyone else. This group does not exist simply to help you promote your personal message. We're supposed to be actually supporting each other.
So I do pay attention to those who come rolling in with their own agenda. If you don't care to wash my feet, I don't care to listen to your soapbox. And I pray that I myself would remain above such behavior.
Not pointing fingers. Just being honest.

I couldn't say otherwise without betraying my own conscience, for I know myself that the Scriptures teach otherwise, and the Lord has taught me the truth about this from His word. But I agree with the rest.)

Do you think anyone here sees themselves as a self appointed teacher with their own personal agenda . IF so , you should question them . Lots of times things might just be in our own assumption , but then at times our assumptions are right . IF I thought for sure that anyone here saw themselves as a self appointed teacher who did not really care about the lambs , I would in all kindness address or at least ask the person . The thing is assumptions can divide . If you suspect anyone here of that , you should ask them . It clears things up real fast .

Their will be nothing in our heart that desires to go around any of his sayings , just a love FOR HIS sayings . Not all people who are called will love Him indeed because their hearts are not for Him.
It seems they do not love Him as much to the point of desiring to keep His commandments no matter what (this is what love does, it believes on the impossible just to please the loved one).
When people start making excuses to disobey Him then it shows they have loved darkness rather than light.
And obviously, if they do not repent they will reap what they are sowing: Death.
"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life." - Galatians 6:7
When people know Him, and see that He is holy and are commanded to repent because they are sinning against Him...
those that love Him will be sorry and be led to repentance, and if they love Him indeed they will endure until the end.
"...With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." - Matthew 19:26
"He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." - 1 John 4:8
"...bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails..." - 1 Corinthians 13:7-8
"Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments." - 1 John 2:3
"For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith." - 1 John 5:3-4
"By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit." - 1 John 4:13
This completely destroys the "Once Saved Always Saved" deception that leads many people to rest in wickedness and make them believe things like:
You can kill yourself and go to heaven.
After repenting, if you die sinning against God you will go to heaven.
No problem, no worries. You can sin as you wish, you are under grace and already saved!
No problem in being a half friend with God and the world... Just do not walk like the devil and you will be fine.
"Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit." - Matthew 12:33
"You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?" - Matthew 7:16
The problem is that they hear about walking holy, sanctification, loving God, enduring to the end and they start being worried and afraid... But why!?
"Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world." - 1 John 4:17
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." - 1 John 4:18
"For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed." - John 3:20
"If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth." - 1 John 1:6
"But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God." - John 3:21
"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" - Luke 11:13
God bless you all in Jesus' name!

exactly letters . Let us look at what JESUS said . WHY do you call me LORD , LORD and yet you do not do the things that I command . He who hears and does my sayings , is like a man who dug deep and laid his foundation on a stone . And the storm beat against that house and it did not fall. But he who hears my sayings and does them not , is like a man that built his house on sand , the winds came and ka bam , great was the destruction of that house . and now james , DO not be hearers ONLY , DECIEVING YOUR OWN SELVES . JAMES was one who had SAT UNDER JESUS , OH , HE KNEW THE TRUTH . HE SURE DID .

I don't think anyone here does this on purpose. People get busy in their personal lives, or they can't think of anything to add to a discussion, so they wander off after they've said their peace. It's not a big deal, but it's something I notice here and there. We have 26 members, yet only about 10 of us participate on a regular basis. I'd like to see the day when a majority of our members are engaged in real discussion.

I'd like to see the day when a majority of our members are engaged in real discussion. People becoming inactive after joining a message board is pretty common. I think there are different reasons why people decide to join. Some are interested in reading what others are saying. Some want to be part of the group, but really don't know how to contribute. We have one member that is here almost every Wednesday night for Bible study, but doesn't post in the forums. If you look at the bigger forums, they will have thousands of members and a handful that ever post anything. I think everyone needs to do the ministry God has called them to do, whatever that may be. It is about each member of the body of Christ all doing their part.
One other thing. I can't speak for anyone else, but there are times where I will speak my peace and won't say anything else because I don't want to come across as having to have the final word. It is hard to know what is going on in the mind of other people, so I can think they behave in a certain way for this reason or that reason, but I really don't know.

I come on here every day and have a browse but when I see posts like these, it puts me off. I first came on here with excitement and joy, ready to share and interact, but when others are worried about you because you are truly seeking and testing everything, showing this Christian land that there is nothing to be afraid of in reading these other books, and proving that it does not promote a different gospel than what we received, or a different Lord, or contrary doctrine but in perfect harmony to the doctrine of the Canon and also in perfect harmony to all the prophesies. To frown upon this, or myself really saddens me, that you see it as some type of "straying" from the truth, instead of one going deeper into it because "the Word of God" is there then there is not much I can do, nor do I feel like I am welcome here anymore.
I truly have much more knowledge in the Canon than these other books, but it never ceases to amaze me that man has been around for a very long time, and the Lord has performed a great work in so many prophets, not unknown to us and made this information available for us today to seek. Even when I go into the Canon and try to get every one excited, I feel it's not appreciated or that it looks like I am big noting myself. It is very hard to not offend everyone, because there is always something I am going to say or point out that someone doesn't like or even just my mannerisms. This is that cross that I bear, a little fire out of the many that I go through and I don't judge my walk according to how the Christian land sees me, for I see many faults in them also, but to our own Master we stand or we fall. He is the only one that knows our hearts, and knows what we do when no one is watching. I don't run with the pack, and I have never been one too, and I was never drawn to the churches but only directly to the truth of the Canon for 30 years. In other words, my knowledge is not second hand, but one I had to labour for myself. I had to learn the truth and live it in my everyday life with no one to hold my hand, but go through this fire myself like we all should. Why would I want to walk into a ditch or go back into captivity? If I commit myself to men, then I am under all their made up laws, rules and regulations which i find have no scriptural support, but only control. We are not born of the bond woman, but of the free. Free to seek whatever we want out, if it's reported that the Lord is there speaking we can weigh it out whether it's of any benefit or can be thrown away. I would never throw away what the Lord has spoke, nor reject, and frienduff I have found some precious jewels that I wanted to share. Not just one or two, but plenty.
Even though on these forums it seems I have not been able to contribute anything worthwhile which gives me a deep sadness, in my private life, the Lord has truly comforted me in the last few months by bringing the gentiles to my door and sharing the gospel with the lost, and reaching out to the youth who are not indoctrinated but welcoming a fresh new perspective in receiving the seed which has been planted, ...and whether they continue or not in this new found knowledge, is up to them but the joy it gives me to see that hope when they hear, is worth all the rejection in the world. This is what is keeping me busy lately.
Everyone has something to offer. I don't like telling people over and over what they already know. It's like teaching the ABC to kids, and never teaching them how to form words out of it. I like new topics, and topics that make one think. I like talking about things that no one speaks of to keep the flame going. I like getting straight into the spirit of truth other than just speaking around it. Get straight down into the true doctrine. I don't like putting someone down, or offending anyone, but if you are worried about me, then you won't take anything I say seriously, and think me a fraud and plant that same thought to others also like you have done on this post.
If there are any contradictions to what I have posted with these other books, then I gave the opportunity for anyone to point out and rebuke, but mostly silence? Don't you guys want to know the extra little details given? Are you not curious? If you know the prophesies you will connect them straight away. Satan is cunning, yes I know, but he will always leave a little clue when he has tampered with something, and that would be something not in harmony with the truth. He will contradict something we know for sure like how he has done in most of the new bible translations where we who use a KJV can pick it up. Someone not used to the KJV will not pick it up that he has twisted the truth, but God let him make his little mistakes so that we can find. One example is that in the NIV (Isaiah 14:12) they called Lucifer the devil, the "Morning Star", which is Jesus' title. Lucifer was the "Son of the Morning", meaning one of the first angels created (created early), yet they use the correct term in identifying Jesus as "the bright Morning Star" in the book of Revelation! God let him slip up on purpose, and these books will work the same way if you know the Word, and know how to catch him out. This is the perversion of the truth the Gospel was speaking about. This is where they added and subtracted words, and twisted the truth. It's all in here where verses are changed contradicting the truth and wrongly interpreting scripture to create new doctrines and preaching a different gospel and a different Jesus. I just want to point out, that you are looking in the wrong places to find fault, anywhere but not where it is widely accepted.
frienduff I love you brother, I know you are true, but I believe you have been misled in this. There is nothing hidden that will not be revealed. When Enoch comes, one of the two prophets, he will show the Christian land what they have rejected and that is the very Word of God we all claim to know and love. Many will realise when it is shown that God did not only speak in the Canon, but for thousands of years he spoke to his chosen and had it all recorded for a witness so that we believers can have it today. We cannot claim something false on just a "gut feeling", or because something makes us "cringe". We have to provide proof and show it is false, and be certain that we are not speaking out against the truth. If you don't want to go there, fair enough, but someone by chance may be interested and will get something out of it, like I did. I am not showing this to newcomers for they havn't received their foundation yet in doctrine, but to us who are already in the Word, and have been into it for quite some years I see no harm to discuss.

I am not showing this to newcomers for they havn't received their foundation yet in doctrine, but to us who are already in the Word, and have been into it for quite some years I see no harm to discuss. Sorry, Sister ! Let us talk about truth, and what it really means to me.
I believe truth came by Jesus Christ, and He gave us the grace and truth we need to be saved.
"For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." - John 1:17
"And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you..." - 2 Corinthians 12:9
"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." - John 17:17
Saying that people rejected truth just because they are not interested in searching for truth other than those...
explicitly said and revealed to them directly by Jesus Christ is something that saddens me as well.
I believe that what we have in the 66 books of the Canon is the Word of God, with all we need to know.
I believe we are here in this world to talk about the truth of the gospel, and to show them how evil and wickedness are going to be judged by God and their need to repent.
Then searching for truth that will not help nor add anything to the benefit of the gospel of Christ is to me something that is not needed.
"Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him." - John 6:27
"for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." - Luke 19:10
Growing in truth and love given to us by Jesus and ministering it to others is enough to keep us busy for our entire lives.
"But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." - 2 Corinthians 11:3
God bless you in Jesus' name!

And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star. (Revelation 2:26-28)
Unless this is a baffling promise for Jesus to somehow give Himself, it seems that "morning star" is not limited to being a title for Jesus.
Note that He called Himself the "bright morning star" in Revelation 22. It seems that there is more than one version of a morning star, and Jesus stands alone as the brightest of them all.
He also called Himself the lion of the tribe of Judah, even as Peter called Satan a roaring lion.
