I was going through some trials this week, and happened upon Psalm 3. I had recently posted the first two Psalms, so this was the next in line, but it was very real to me this week.
LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah. But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousand of people, that have set themselves against me round about. Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
I had some serious issues come up the other day that could have been a real mess, but I felt like the Lord led me to ask for the prayers of my brothers and sisters here and to pray myself. While everything didn't turn out perfect, it wasn't nearly as bad as it looked like it was going to be. I had the devil attack my computer with viruses twice, but thankfully, I was able to get it fixed. Then I was attacked by more than one person for simply telling people they don't have to commit willful sins. We have a choice when we are faced with temptations, and we can either give in or say no. There is no reason we can't live right every day. The next thing I know, I am being attacked from several different people, but the Lord was with me. I thank him for all he has done for me this week. He is a wonderful God we serve.
I know there are many here going through trials and afflictions, some far worse than me. David was going through situations much, much worse than me. His own son Absalom was trying to kill him so he could become king in David's place. No matter your circumstances, I hope this Psalm will bring comfort to you and be a reminder that if God is on your side, who can be against you?
