Well the famous scripture that is usually used, which is true, because it is in the word, is this one:
Rom 10:17 (17) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Now faith as a fruit, goes in conjunction to this scripture:
Gal 5:25 (25) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
It is faith for living the faith walk.
It is a giving yourself over to the word, in total trust in God, which true faith results in works, but in works that has resulted from a relationship with God.

Also faith can also bring us into the supernatural work of God, in the sense of laying hands on the sick and them recovering, casting out demons and so forth.

Also faith can also bring us into the supernatural work of God, in the sense of laying hands on the sick and them recovering, casting out demons and so forth. To walk in the Spirit is a supernatural work of God; some people like to separate the works of faith just as prophesying, casting out demons and healing a sick.
What people have to know is that casting out demons, healing a sick, and other signs and wonders must all...
be done through love and, consequently, they are just one more of the results of walking in the Spirit.
"For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love." - Galatians 5:6
Compassion, sincere and good faith. Blessings, blessings in Jesus' name!

I should of thought of this one first. Being humble is the key!
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

I want to add something to my last post, its not really about faith specifically but about, well sometimes its good too take it back to the basics for a reminder or for a new believer to hear these things. its more to do with a way to get to the fruits by walking in The Spirit. and by abiding. Mainly a key part for walking in The Spirit, and how to achieve being humble.
something that hinders us from being able to walk in the spirit is when we do not put God first. when we do not honor Him. when we sin it curses our life. and its not just death... we reap what we sow. a good example of this is in proverbs. Pro 6:30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; Pro 6:31 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house. The thing is, nothing is hidden from Gods eyes. no one ever gets away with anything they do. you reap what you sow. Now if we choose sin we choose death, we choose to not honor and respect God. In both the old testament and the new there are found a set of laws. the ten commandments in the old. Thou shall have no other gods before me, it says. its first because God wants to be first. we give thanks BEFORE meal, God wants to be more important in your life. He wants us to Love Him before we love anything else because only He gives us life, only He cleanses us of our sin, which removes this curse of sin that we bring upon ourselves. One of the key things to walking in The Spirit is to put God first... in everything. Humility and being humble has been mentioned in this thread several times... if we do not put God first we can not even approach being humble in our heart. For a believer we have a choice to make in every situation. this choice is life or death. it may not seem this way, but it is. for a believer every moment, every experience is "spiritual" God always gives us this choice. even back to the garden of eden where there were two trees that were named. If adam had put God before his wife, things would be much different today. if we put God first it will position our hearts to better walk in The Spirit. even the little things matter, and God sees it. And if we acknowledge Him and honor Him it goes a long way with Him. We are not the center of our own universe.

Check out this comment from Paul on faith:
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:7-10)
One person receives a gift of faith, another receives a gift of healing. They're separate. In the gospels, people needed faith to receive a healing, but the disciples were healing people even as they were weak in faith.
Then we see this little sequence in Mark 9:
And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not...
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief...
And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
The father needed faith to receive it, while the disciples needed more prayer and fasting to effect it.
Observe this from James 5:
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
The prayer of faith (going back to prayer and fasting) will save a sick man from death that comes from sin.
Faith is the capacity to apprehend the promises of God. A person may have faith to see a healing so clearly without operating in the gift of healing. A person who is anointed for healing may not always be totally confident in what God is doing through him.

1 Timothy 6:11-12
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
The wording used above is... "follow after" ..."fight the good fight" ...and "lay hold." These indicate that faith is something we have to contend for, be exercised in.
Jude 1:3
“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”
There will be opposition to faith... opposition is necessary to growth.
1 Peter 1:6-9 6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see [him] not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, [even] the salvation of [your] souls.

Now here is a a type of counterfeit faith.
It revolves around the faith movement or prosperity gospel.
Which of course some of it's proponents are Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dolalr ect.
Now they may mention verses on faith and so forth but are very deceitful and sneaky in the way they use these scriptures.
What they preach has been labeled as hyper faith.
They bring faith to a place it was never meant to go, and promote a type of greed gospel.
But also they promote, in a sneaky way this type of faith in faith gospel, or faith in words, using the word as magical formulas, to get God to do their bidding.
But it is not having faith in your confessions that God wants, but rather it is faith that God will confirm his word, and that you can trust him to do so, without you getting in the way.
Yes we confess the word, but it comes as a result of us believing it in our hearts, and thus results in a true heart felt confession, and us trusting God to confirm his word.
Some even use the word of God as some type of hypnosis, not realizing that they are doing so.
Some think just repeating it enough will get the job done.

And concerning faith, well here is something else on it:
Rom 12:1-3 (1) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (3) For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
This is talking to the brethren, and speaking to every man that is among the brethren , in this particular case, how that God hath dealt to every man among the brethren the measure of faith.
And then there is a particular gift of faith:
1Co 12:7-11 (7) But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. (8) For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; (9) To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; (10) To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: (11) But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
There seems to be faith which has been given to every believer, and then a specific gift of faith, and people do get healed by faith, and then there is the prayer of faith which saves the sick, and then specific gifts of healings.
There are many specific things, but not all have the gift of faith, but as concerns the fruit of faith, God wants all to grow in this.

I am a person that sometimes likes to explain himself, and I know I do not have to every time, which I do not every time, but I like to do so at times, just so that there is less confusion on what I mean, that is all.
In a certain quote I mentioned the power to choose, and all I meant by this was this:
Jos 24:15 (15) And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

And concerning the fruit of faith, I think it lines up well with this scripture:
Gal 2:20 (20) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Heb 12:2 (2) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6
When the Bible speaks of faith as a fruit of the Spirit, it is speaking of an active faith, not just a feeling like I kind of believe in something. I have heard many say they believe in the Lord. Big deal! So do the devils, and they tremble in his presence. You believe in God. Congratulations! You are not like the fool that said in his heart there is no God.
The kind of faith that is a fruit of the Spirit will cause us to believe God and act accordingly. You will have a spirit like Joshua and Caleb, knowing God is able and will do what he says. I would imagine all the spies believed in the existence of God, but not all had real faith.
