Some 10 years ago, during a very difficult time of my life, the Lord led me to listen to a particular praise and worship CD 24/7. I had it playing in my home and in my vehicle if I went someplace. Many times, the Lord would draw me to spend time in His presence, just to fellowship and to pour myself out to Him (as He still does) and those are some very intense and powerful times.
One night, I had gone to sleep with the CD playing softly, as I had for weeks... and I was given a dream:
I dreamed I was at a Christian retreat in the mountains and there was a handful of us gathered together. Everyone had their mind on the Lord, and I could hear the most indescribably beautiful music... after a bit, one person stood and prayed and then when they were done, the next person, and then the next, and the next.... what was amazing is that each person's prayer sounded like a song... like individual stanzas to one beautiful Heavenly song! And when each person had sung their prayer, then everyone joined in one accord and prayed powerfully on behalf of a person I knew. The entire time, this Heavenly music was playing.
When I woke, I was still hearing that Heavenly music, and then it faded into the song that was playing on my CD player... a song by Paul Baloche, "No Eye Has Seen." When I awoke, it was still the middle of the night, and I was praying in the Holy Spirit, intercession for this woman/friend. After a bit, I fell back to sleep.
Later that day, I wrote an email to a mutual friend and told her about the dream and the song. She then relayed it to the woman I dreamed about (who we prayed for in the dream). What we discovered is that she had been going through some difficulty and had some things she was seeking answers for from God. She had gone to that Christian retreat to spend time seeking God... and the night of my dream was her first night there.

When I listen to music, and sing along, it is from my heart and spirit to Him. (I can carry a tune, but my voice is nothing spectacular, imo.) But what I'm wanting to emphasize is.... worship is a lifestyle, a state of the heart .... and even our prayers are worship ... everything we do (as unto the Lord) is worship. When our heart has a revelation of His goodness and love, one can't help but burst with His praises! I can see that it is your heart to worship Him... you've acknowledged some things that have hindered the outflow... I believe God sees and will honor your desire to worship and praise Him. \o/
1 Corinthians 2:9
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
Psalm 95:1
"O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation."
Psalm Chapter 150
1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
