I found this from a journal entry about 10 years or so ago, and thought I would share... sweet memories of when my children were all still at home.
____________ It's been a quiet and relaxing day... I'm grateful for that! ...even though my silly kids (ALL of them!) tried to save all the tadpoles in the drying-up "pond" (1/2 acre mud hole) out in "the desert." The last time they did that, I wasn't aware, and started seeing little froggies hopping around the boy's room from the fish tank - double UGH!! This time they are keeping them outside in tanks and containers ...silly kids! I can't blame them though... but if there happens to be a world-wide frog epidemic, don't tell anyone who is responsible! (Hehe!)
I asked Chrissy why they were doing that, and she said the water was drying up and the tadpoles would die ...I said we couldn't possibly save them all and asked how they chose which ones to "save" ...she smiled and said (as she demonstrated with her hands), "We're scooping them up like this... and the ones who stay in our hands are the 'chosen ones' and they are the ones who get saved." (Interesting!) So we discussed that a bit more with how GOD calls and draws people, but only those who hear and choose to come to Him and stay in His hands are "saved." (For many are called, but few are chosen.) Being "chosen" simply means we heard His call, and came and decided to place our lives in His hands!
This was very interesting and timely discussion for us and these talks are right up Chrissy's alley! Oh, to see her eyes light up... it's a beautiful sight!
Matthew 22:14, "For many are called, but few are chosen."

Great analogy for us to consider - straight from the mouth of babes!

There is also a lesson in how no man may be able to pluck us out of God's hands, but we can choose to stop trusting him and leave, as many of the tadpoles wouldn't remain.
