We must always seek to improve in our sanctification process and do not become lazy or enter in unbelief.
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid,
nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9
"Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him." - Hebrews 10:38
"For this is the will of God, your sanctification:
that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to
possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor..." - 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4
And do not hear your friends and family who say things like:
It is not through works, stop pleasing God.
Why are you striving to be holy?!
So, you think you can please God?! Ha, ha, ha!
"...and a man's enemies will be those of his own household." - Matthew 10:36
"...the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are
foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." - 1 Corinthians 2:14
"in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God
perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth..." - 2 Timothy 2:25
"For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving
various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another." - Titus 3:3
If you can please God it depends on you whether you believe or not. Obviously, unbelievers cannot please God.
"...With men it is impossible, but not with God;
for with God all things are possible." - Mark 10:27
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13
"For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently?
But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God." - 1 Peter 2:20
"...without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must
believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." - Hebrews 11:6
It is not through works, because it is no longer you who live but Christ lives in you.
"If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which
are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God." - Colossians 3:1
The truth is, if you have repented as you have believed in the words of truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Then why those who have repented through the knowledge of that truth would want to continue to live for sin and themselves?!
"But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.
Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His." - Romans 8:9
"So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God." - Romans 8:8
The truth is that no one can walk holy, in truth, and overcome sin and the flesh if the Holy Spirit is not in them.
And truth be told, no one in this world can or will truly help anyone to walk holy, in truth, in order to please God.
"the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him..." - John 14:17
Consequently, no one who is in the flesh will encourage anyone to do such a thing (in truth) because the flesh always work against the Spirit of God.
"For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh;
and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish." - Galatians 5:17
Then do not listen to people who encourage you to do something contrary you have learned from the Lord.
"but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct..." - 1 Peter 1:15
"if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you,
He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal
bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you." - Romans 8:11
"And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure." - 1 John 3:3
"For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness." - 1 Thessalonians 4:7
"to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the
power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance
among those who are sanctified by faith in Me." - Acts 26:18
"and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith." - Acts 15:9
And it is very important that we do not look back, because there is nothing good in our past lives.
What really matters is what is forward. Repent and keep walking.
"...but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind
and reaching forward to those things which are ahead..." - Philippians 3:13
And it is very important that we keep and keep improving.
The more improvement, the more willing we are to grow in Christ the better.
Because it is for our own benefit, there is nothing better than to stay close to the Lord.
And only those who have experienced can say, those who are against the will of the Lord...
and/or are lagging behind in their sanctification do not know what they are missing.
"For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." - Matthew 16:25
Then, let us seek to improve always.
It is very, very important and it is SOOO GOOOD. Praise the Lord! \o/
"Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound
more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God..." - 1 Thessalonians 4:1
"But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger,
wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth." - Colossians 3:8
"Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses,
contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are
such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words
and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple." - Romans 16:17-18
Blessings, blessings to you in Jesus' name!
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid,
