We always need a better grip on what Christ has done for us on the cross and through his resurrection.
We need to keep our faith remaining in his finished work, and not give up when we are tried and have failed, but keep on keeping on with the Lord.
We do not stand in ourselves, there is no merits, there is just a willful surrender to God.
The cross exposes everything, it exposes us at times, and shows us the right track to be on.
Without Christ we can do nothing, we cannot glorify God.
Abandon Hollywood, and hold to to his holy ways.
Here is a good scripture:
1Th 5:22 (22) Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Something that came to me that causes people to fall away is spiritual dry spells. We all have them. We will go through times where we feel the presence of God all day, and find the Christian walk easy, but then comes those dry spells, where we don't feel anything, and it becomes a struggle. That is often what determines who remains in the faith and who falls away, how we deal with the dry spells.

We really need to guard our hearts.
Heb 3:12-14 (12) Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. (13) But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. (14) For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Unbelief will actually bring you into the way of sin, into the ways of the works of the flesh, and will bring those works to be manifest in some way.
Here is a thought:
Psa 11:5 (5) The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
What are we feeding our hearts?
Mat 15:19 (19) For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Do we love violence, do we enjoy watching violence on tv?
Do we enjoy blood and guts?
In the time of the Romans there were gladiator games, were people enjoyed blood and guts and seeing people kill other people, is our society slowly graduating to this?
Sometimes we will acknowledge bad actions, but forget about the thoughts of the heart.

Preach the word be instant . In season and out of season . Exhort one another daily lest any becomes hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. Their truly is an answer to everything in that bible . Stir one another up by way of remembrance . Keep saying the reminders , as paul said , to say these things to you , it is not greivious for me , but needful for you . Notice paul says and I have told you often . The key of our survival IS IN CHRIST and those men KNEW HIM and knew how to instruct the church to keep it solid , on fire and stirred up for the Lord. Provoke one another unto good works . Every single Word and pattern JESUS first taught , WOULD do everyone a tremendous work of being stirred up and reminded , if we would read more and exhort one another more . I mean the entire pattern JESUS set up , is PERFECT . Also our trials will refine us even more . I mean its so true , all things work together for good to those who love God . I notice when anyone starts to slip , its because they took the focus off God and the pure way of righteousness and holiness . They begin often to listen to more seducing types of words or as the bible would say , get slothful . Every gift is for the purpose of building the church up . And all for the Glory of GOD . Another thing , and I notice on worthy our sister watchful said , don't let the grey cells get in the way , or words to that effect . Just learn OF the Lord . Everything in that bible is for our good and it does sharpen our countenance . Exhorting daily , and all other gifts too. Something else just came to me , IF also we will start working as a group and working together to get things done this too will keep us fired up . An example . When I find out what churches started that , LETS not say JESUS is the Son of God . I think we should write them and warn out . We could also figure out how to make lil pamplets with pure holy doctrine and just mail them out to many churches and also some of us could hand them out too. Sister Candace can really be a big help in this . I mean we could really start not just building one another up , but have a performance of doing what is good as well .

It can be done, but it would be a pretty major undertaking for our little group. Let us indeed pray and fast.

The only times I felt an unction to do something like that, it was to write a letter of correction to a web-site that was run by a guy who claimed to be a homosexual Christian, and the site was what he called a hospital for other "gay Christians" persecuted for their lifestyle. I have no idea how he received what I told him. One other time, I wrote a letter of correction to Westboro Baptist Church about how their attitude was wrong, and they should follow the example of Jeremiah to stand against sin, but mourn for the sinners, not thank God for their destruction and for harm coming to innocent people in America. I got no reply. It is an interesting idea Frienduff.

Yes . We can do this . Also an idea , is we can go and find other sites too . And start working as a lil group to exhort one and all. And their are smaller websites too .

What you are describing is a type of missions work at worldly Christian web-sites or places that promote error and scatter the sheep. I had gotten to where I saw WCF as more of a mission field than a Christian forum. I am okay with the idea, if it doesn't take up so much time, this place is neglected. Perhaps your primary calling is more towards missions and evangelism, and I have more of a Pastor, Teacher calling? We are to make full proof of our ministry and be an evangelist, so I will help on a limited basis.

Amen. Walking by faith, not by sight and not by feelings. We need the dry spells, and the Lord leads us through them to sweeten our fruit. It proves to us that it is the Lord who carries us, not we ourselves....we learn to depend on Him more in the wilderness times where there are no other signposts and nothing else to prop us up, only Him. It is there that we die out to some things and other deeper things in us come to light to be healed/cleansed etc....so those dry times are purifying.

Dry spells are a major part of the Christian walk yet are not directiy spoken of in Scripture. There are stories we often hear taught as a metaphorical teaching on dry spells, but there are no clear verses that teach on it. Interesting.

I know it is real, as I will experience times like that after every spiritual high point. Songs are out there about it, talking about times spent in the valley, but I couldn't think of a scripture that says we will all go through dry spells. Valleys? Yes. Times of testing, perhaps, but not anything I can directly say describes this experience, yet everyone knows what I mean.

its only in the valleys where things grow. I was told not to run from your valley, but to embrace it. the visual image i was given was mountains, rocks and snow caps. but when we look in the valleys its lush and green. nothing grows on the mountain tops.
I am reminded of a fella in the bible that went into the wilderness to be with God. It says he ate locusts and honey. I look at valleys as training. We are to train up a child in the way it is to go. stands to reason to me God will do the same for us. train us. we want to be on the mountain top... but nothing grows up there. only in the valleys do things grow.
another key part of valley life is God is God on the mountain top and He Is God in the valley. which is one of my favorite songs on it.
