We need to examine ourselves and say: In who are we trusting?
Are we walking trusting in love or ourselves?
It is very, very important. So important that I was moved to write about this yesterday, and I writing it today and it was followed by events that confirmed this even more.
It is something I believe we all need to some degree, especially those who are new to the faith.
And I confess this is very useful even to myself. I really needed it at this time.
In who are we trusting? This is something that needs to be answered with sincerity.
It may hurt some people, but we can do nothing against the truth; just agree and ask what you need.
Because we are not living for ourselves, or because of ourselves. We live, we are still here because of Him; otherwise some of us would already be dead.
"casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." - 1 Peter 5:7
Because of His mercy we are alive; and He called and chose us.
"...I know whom I have chosen..." - John 13:18
And He called us to have life, and to live according to His direction; not ours.
When we worry for anything, then it is a sign we are not trusting as we ought to.
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.
But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." - 1 John 4:18
First, do not try to imagine you are going to do this out of your own effort.
The hardest part is to accept the truth; yes, and it hurts.
"For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation,
not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death." - 2 Corinthians 7:10
The second part is to ask, and when you receive the truth - and it hurts; He will automatically give you what you need to ask from Him.
This generates no doubt but it is certain, you know very well what you need to ask.
And then you will surely receive it.
"Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray,
believe that you receive them, and you will have them." - Mark 11:24
Now, I will talk about walking in love... When we walk in love we do not doubt or worry about anything.
"For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”" - Romans 10:11
If we hear the flesh or waste our time giving it credit... It is for our own destruction, discomfort, and shame; as it has nothing good to offer.
"I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness,
and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness." - Romans 6:19
With love there is no risk of such thing happening because you are not seeking your own. Then this will not affect you.
Then we must think about it, and seek to grow in love each day.
I believe many people are missing a lot for not seeking to grow. And this is true.
"...For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light." - Luke 16:8
In comparison, there are many in the world who live to its fullest wasting their time; following the evil desires of the flesh.
And they are very dedicated in it, and put all they have in their passions that will not last or cause them any benefit.
We, in this world, we are not of here... But we live like and expect to move to our place of origin and it is nothing like this world.
Surely, we are not seeing it now. But we know it is much better than here; we hate our lives in this world.
There is nothing here we are interested in, except the souls that are lost.
"For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." - Philippians 1:21
What we do we do nothing to ourselves, but to one another; and in the name of Him who sent us, and for Him who sent us.
"No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another,
God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us." - 1 John 4:12
Let us seek to live worry free, trusting in Him, trusting in His love, and in His power, and His mercy.
I know it is not something that is acquired instantly, it depends on our faith.
And we must seek to add to it daily, and risk to leave our comfort zone more often; each time we do that, it is an achievement.
"...if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain,
‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." - Matthew 17:20
Keep doing it, keep seeking, keep practicing... Until you are able to believe the impossible as it was something trivial.
"With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." - Matthew 19:26
"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity,
but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails." - 1 Corinthians 13:8
Everything you do, do so out of love.
"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." - 1 Corinthians 10:31
"He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." - 1 John 4:8
God bless you in Jesus' name!
