Things That Will Cost You A Place In Heaven

I just started a new thread in the section the Gospel and Acts, dealing with how born again believers have duel citizenship in the Kingdom of God and their nation of birth. I was sharing how that even if you are free from guilt of breaking any laws in the nation you live in down here, you may have numerous things charged against you in the Kingdom of God that will cost you any inheritance there, including eternal life. The wages of sin is death, meaning eternal damnation. I want to give you some examples from scripture. Some of the things mentioned are against the law in most countries, but some are only against God's laws. Some of these things can cause you to be locked up or executed here, while some carry no penalty, but all will keep you from inheriting the Kingdom of God. Let's begin with 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Now, let's turn to Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Many of these things that are listed are perfectly legal in America. Few states will charge you with fornication. Idolatry and witchcraft are protected under the U.S. Constitution as it is interpreted today. An effeminate man or a Tom Boy or even a homosexual or lesbian are considered just fine. So long as the drunkenness is not in public, and the person isn't violating other laws because of it, it is perfectly acceptable in America. Things like being a thief and committing murder will cause you to be locked up in most cases, but for the most part, you can do most of these things and be just fine down here, but not so in God's Kingdom.
Imagine that you are a good ole boy who likes to raise Cain on the weekend, kick up your heels and get drunk. That is what you do on a typical Saturday night. Nothing happens down here. You aren't charged with a crime, and you are loved as the life of the party. In the Kingdom of God, every single incident is written down. The crimes are piling up. You envy those who have more than you. You hate those people that are rich, and you are therefore a loyal member of the Democratic Party. You live to soak it to the rich. That is considered wonderful by liberals and progressives in America, but in the Kingdom of God, you are being charged with envy. That is a crime in heaven.
We are in the world, but not of the world. We are strangers and pilgrims here. We are as ambassadors for God's Kingdom, and we are to promote the teachings of the Kingdom wherever we go. We are not to go by our personal feelings or opinions, likes or dislikes, but we are to live by and stand for the laws and principles of God's Kingdom. If we want an inheritance in heaven, we must be obedient children. Those who go around hollering faith plus nothing and other such garbage are false teachers. God's children are being destroyed day in and day out for lack of Bible knowledge and sound teaching. Do you want that mansion in heaven? Do you want to inherit eternal life? Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and follow him. Take up that cross daily and die to self. That is the straight and narrow way that leads to life, and few will find it.
