If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 14:37
It is amazing to me how many people that claim to believe the Bible is God's Word will try to downplay some of the things written in the epistles. They will claim they are influenced by the culture or that they were just opinions. That is not what Paul says concerning his words. He says that they are the "commandments of the Lord." Look at that again. They are not the suggestions of Paul or even the recommendations of Christ, but they are the "commandments of the Lord." Is that possible? Are there really commandments we are to give credence to under the New Covenant? Either that is true or Paul lied to everyone. Do you believe the Bible is God's Word? Then next time you read the epistles of Paul, you need to recognize they are the commandments of the Lord.
