BRETHREN, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden. Galatians 6:1-5

This is something the church needs to take serious is restoration. This is not about overlooking sin and allowing compromise, but it is about helping those who have gone astray. It is about seeking to help them come to repentance, get back on the straight and narrow road, and then bringing them back into fellowship. If we are not careful, any of us can fall into sin and get out of the way. We have to be diligent to continue to live a life of obedience to Christ. We have to take up our cross daily. When we see a brother or sister leave the narrow road that leads to life, and wander onto the broad way that leads to destruction, we need to do our best to restore such a one.
