I recently read that one of the gates into Jerusalem was named "The Eye of the Needle," and was quite tricky to negotiate, since it was quite small. Does this mean that when Jesus said "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven," He meant that, far from being impossible, it was merely tricky? The interpretation that seems to make sense to me is this. The "Eye of the Needle" was indeed a narrow gateway into Jerusalem. Since camels were heavily loaded with goods and riders, they would need to be un-loaded in order to pass through. Therefore, the analogy is that a rich man would have to similarly unload his material possessions in order to enter heaven. By the way Hazard, you are every bit as welcome here as before. I know you unregistered, but you are still one of the family here as far as I am concerned, and you can re-register. The Lord bless you brother.

I have heard some say you would literally have to take everything off the camel, or at least the camel would have to go down very low towards the ground to get through the very small entrance to the city. We do know that when asked who can be saved, Jesus said that with man it is impossible, but with God, all things are possible.

And I have heard that three. The ones however I heard saying it were of the false prosperity group. So lets be careful. Butero you summed it up when you simply said , ONLY WITH JESUS is it possible . AND JESUS had said that . But what that means is JESUS will change the heart of a rich man FROM HIS RICHES and STITCHES , to the poor and not heaping and steeping anymore . Rich men have been called before . and a few do heed and come , but they wont be the same as they were before . THEY wont be preaching a get rich gospel either . they will be giving their riches to the poor . WATCH . For if any rich man is called and he don't change, but keeps hold of that money and grasps hold of the prosperity gospel , HE WASNT CALLED TO JESUS . it was all a false conversion . just as if a poor man is called and suddenly he is all about money and prosperity , well his coming was not genuine either . The effects of COMING TO JESUS , AFFECTS A HEART CHANGE . and it is SEEN. Kenny and many others who preach that prosperitiy gospel , thems FALSE MEN RIGHT THIER . false and I don't have fear to say that . THEY FALSE .

If you look at the often funny Aramaic verses, you will see the play on the word camel. It will refer to camel hair and the threading of a needle. If you get a chance to read the original Aramaic, you will find some very clever word plays that the Greek and Latin totally miss. If you recall, the Hebrew and Aramaic language was the colloquial tongue of Yeshua's day. Aramaic and Hebrew switch and swap out letters too. It is a very interesting study, and can explain why Yeshua was often talked of with affection as being like David. David was a great poet and some of his psalms as quoted in the apostle's writings show and appreciation of the very cryptic eastern type of humor. (Remember that in early church days, Hebrew and Aramaic were repressed as being 'Jewish' and disgusting.) Yeshua was in love with mankind and often showed it by his humorous and poetic sayings. He is NOT dull.

Impossible for us to do alone, but not with God. It seems to be a picture of the narrow path, the way of the cross.

It is a controversial teaching. There are some that claim it is a fact that cities had this very small entrance to protect the city from an invasion, and that a camel could go through the eye of the needle but with difficulty. I don't believe it is a sin to be prosperous. God is the one that gives the power to obtain wealth. The problem is when you make mammon your god. The Lord must be first in our life. Those riches we hoard up can be here one moment and gone the next, or we could die suddenly and someone else will have all that we were trusting in. Being rich towards God and having treasures in heaven is the most important thing. Nobody can take those true riches from us.

He is NOT dull. That is interesting, and the first time I have heard that. That would truly make it impossible for a rich man to enter into the kingdom on their own. When I think about it, Jesus must have been speaking of a real needle. If it was a narrow entrance to a city, that would mean the rich man could enter in on his own, but with difficulty, but Jesus said with man this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible.

Well sadly they sabatoged it . and butchered it as well. Their is something by grace I have learned and am learning . That godliness with contentment IS great gain. contentment without godliness is a dead end and godliness without learning be to be content is vain . Simply having CHRIST is all we truly and deeply need . For the poorest man , having not a dime , on the run no job, being persecuted , STILL has all HE NEEDS if HE has CHRIST . God feeds the birds , OH, he will take care of us no matter what comes against us . I found the greatest joy in this . the greatest peace of mind . Simply TRUST in CHRIST and no matter what we lose , we have lost nothing we have only gained IF we HAVE HIM . and whatever abundance might come our way , ITS only meant to give to those who lack . SO no desire for gain and no worry about loss. I TELL us all, THIS is PEACE and it passes all the logic of mens minds . for man worries if he loses man is not happy lest he has more . But I got peace NO MATTER WHAT . And besides that , it will soon turn fierce against us . And we will still rejoice . I loved what karanbac brought . that man was about to be killed and HE had great JOY in the LORD . Just as peter and all did , when they too were even in prison , whipped like dogs , STILL they sang, STILL they rejoiced , STILL their hope abounded and it increased . We also learn obedience by the things which we suffer . That too is fact . SO in all honestly the only THIING I can see By serving GOD IS HOPE IN ALL TIMES , REJOICING no matter what comes against us , I mean its the peace that passes all understanding . for men of the world KNOW THIS NOT . The treasure of our soul is not on the things of this earth , this world . OUR TREASURE has a name . JESUS and that treasure IS THE TREASURE that just keeps a man abounding with hope , joy and rejoicing no matter what we face on this earth . ITS REAL and we will learn it even more when we suffer for his sake in the time to come . Absolutely no fear of man , no fear of death , JUST HOPE n the LORD . OH my goodness, on that note I think we all KNOW what time it is LORD praising time . OH my heart is filled with the edification of the LORD . What great hope we have , OH what REAL HOPE we have in Christ. INTO the trenches the battle will get much worse , but even though a lamb does die , HIS HOPE will never die .

The things of earth growing strangely dim: 1Co 7:29 -31 But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
