I just want to thank the Lord for helping get this place up and running. It would not have been possible without him, and giving the idea to Frienduff. The Lord is good and greatly to be praised. Hallelujah!

The Lord has been really good to us. The Bible spoke of how the Lord added to the church daily in the book of Acts, and the Lord has added to our group. It has been a joy to be able to come here and not have the constant bickering and personal insults and attacks. That is how I believe the church should be, and I would imagine the Lord is pleased with his people trying to come to an understanding of His Word without turning it into a war where we try to destroy everyone we disagree with. I didn't picture the Lord leading in this direction, but He moves in mysterious ways, and I am thankful to be a part of it. I give him all the glory.

Not only is the fighting itself unpleasant, but it also discourages people from opening up. How can you share your secret struggles around people who seem so callous? Bible study isn't just academic; it should pierce our hearts to really change us. That's impossible when everyone puts up a know-it-all front.

There are some who are so indoctrinated into certain beliefs, that they feel the need to destroy anyone that doesn't agree. You see that happening a lot over things like unconditional eternal security and gifts of the Spirit. There are churches that say if you don't accept eternal security, you aren't saved, and the gifts of the Spirit no longer operate and they attribute what is happening today to the devil. Those kind of issues have led to much of the fighting.

If you think a person is into witchcraft, of course you'll question their spiritual condition. Thus doctrine becomes an all-or-nothing package.

There was someone yesterday that started a thread claiming that rejection of unconditional eternal security was the doctrine of Balaam, which it is not. The doctrine of Balaam is enticing someone to sin so God's hedge of protection is removed. It has nothing to do with the once saved always saved belief. It is like that group is trying to scare people into believing as they do.

People seem to have no fear of intentionally perverting scripture.

Bible study isn't just academic; it should pierce our hearts to really change us. That's impossible when everyone puts up a know-it-all front. I agree. I know that there are differences on non salvation issues but my zeal for Gods Truth should not lead others who say they are “christians” to argue or fight for “who is right” for no one is right but God. I just left a place as I defended Gods Truth and people were offended. I understand that those who are unsaved will be offended, I once was as I didnt understand! Ive been in my little church for ten years and I cannot recall ever having a “fight” or heated disagreement with anyone, we are all born again. We are all on the same page with God. Even witnessing on the street meeting new new born again people is a great experience. My heart goes out to those that will think about the Gospel message and at least are honest enough to say, no, that’s not for me but thank you for speaking to me....Not everyone walks away with a negative attitude and that always gives me hope. If God is piercing ones heart, they will be convicted then need to make a decision...repent or stay on the wide path to destruction. I’m ever thankful and praising God for saving me!
