The Biden administration announced on Wednesday that it would expand a program that pays farmers to leave land fallow, part of a broader, government-wide effort to cut greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030. The new initiative will incentivize farmers to take land out of production by raising rental rates and incentive payments.
One would think with the severe shortages in 2021, a government would want as much farming production as possible.

Can't say for sure brother. On the one hand we shouldn't underestimate the possibility of government ineptitude. On the other hand I wonder if western civilization is being given over to a futile and reprobate mind as per Romans 1.

First the man occupying the White House tried blaming the rising costs of gas on Russia, despite the costs having started spiking long before the war in Ukraine, and now he is cited as saying a food shortage "is gonna be real," because of the sanctions placed against Russia.
"With regard to food shortage, yes we did talk about food shortages, and it's gonna be real," Biden said during a press conference at a NATO summit in Brussels, Belgium, following a meeting with other world leaders.
"The price of the sanctions is not just imposed upon Russia," he added. "It’s imposed upon an awful lot of countries as well, including European countries and our country as well." I am not sure if Biden's handlers actually meant for him to admit that it is the U.S. actions, aka "sanctions," that is about to make the shortages we have been documenting, even worse.
By trying to blame Russia, Biden has just admitted it is his own decisions and policies that are going to make it harder for Americans to feed their families.

Both your government and my government almost seem as though they WANT to crash the economy....Biden can blame it on the situation with Russia and maybe that is one reason why he wanted that war to happen (if my impression about that was right). Here in Canada our government has been printing and spending money like an out-of-control 10 year-old in a candy store, while doing absolutely nothing to help our economy....steep inflation and frighteningly high cost of housing here.
The Lord saw fit to give me a little word a little while back about these things that are going on....
2Ti 3:8-9 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
He has been exposing them for sure and manifesting their folly (the Freedom Convoy here was very successful, in the respect that it woke a lot of people up and exposed a lot). But I don't know when the foolish ones will fall into their own pit that they're digging for others. Guess we'll have to wait and see. It's funny that my husband, who is not a believer, said the other day that the Prime Minister here just keeps on digging himself a deeper hole (pit).
There is just so much corruption it's hard to fathom....it seems as though western civilization is being judged just like other civilizations in history, because of corruption, sin and rot from within. BUT however things go, I believe we can be encouraged that God doesn't judge the righteous with the unrighteous....He'll spare the righteous and help them in time of trouble.....as a Father pitieth His children who fear Him (Ps. 103).

What you’re watching unfold here is the realization of Biden’s handlers that food inflation and scarcity will become shockingly obvious to everyone later in 2022. That’s because everyone buys food. According to official sources, food inflation in the last year (Feb 2021 – Jan 2022) was over 20%. By the time 2022 comes to an end, we anticipate another 20% – 30% price inflation just in 2022 alone. This means food prices will very nearly have doubled from early 2020 to late 2022.
