There are many, many benefits in sanctification.
And I have been experiencing them. Then it is not just theory what I am going to talk about here.
I believe it is very, very important that we seek to purify our hearts daily and in truth.
"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." - John 17:17
"...Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children,
you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 18:3
"Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord..." - Hebrews 12:14
Because the more impure a heart is, it will be more prone to walk in unbelief and to depart from God by doubting of His power, love, and mercy.
"Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil
heart of unbelief in departing from the living God..." - Hebrews 3:12
Indeed, an impure heart is a fertile ground for evil spirits and evil suggestions.
But also there are many barriers that may try to prevent you in walking holier and purify your heart.
No one, and I say no one in this world will encourage you to pursue a holier life in truth.
It is only you, the Lord and His Word.
"Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." - 2 Corinthians 3:17
"...Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin...
...Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." - John 8:34+36
"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." - John 17:17
From my experience, you will not purify your heart by looking at this world or just waiting without moving.
Prayer, Bible reading and meditation while focusing what you need to achieve (by faith) is very important.
"For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance..." - Matthew 13:12
"...without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must
believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." - Hebrews 11:6
Examine yourself, look at yourself and see how pure your heart is. Your actions and words reflect the state of your heart.
"For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders,
adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies." - Matthew 15:19
"...For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks." - Luke 6:45
The benefits of a pure heart are many, the more sanctified and pure a believer's heart becomes the less prone they will be to deception.
As the more sanctified they become the less interested in carnal pleasures they will be.
"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh,
but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit." - Romans 8:5
They will also be more receptive to truth and receive whatever is good with ease.
They will see things most people do not. Then those with impure hearts are actually losing many, many good things.
"For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." - Romans 8:6
Then why so many people are not encouraging or pursuing a holier life as they should?!
People with impure hearts cannot see or understand, let alone encourage others to pursue a truly holier life.
Then the lack of encouragement and pursuit reflects the times we are living in...
"And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold." - Matthew 24:12
"Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man,
but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit." - 1 Thessalonians 4:8
Then while many people are fleeing from holiness and seeing it as a bad thing, they are actually contributing to their own destruction.
"As he loved cursing, so let it come to him;
As he did not delight in blessing, so let it be far from him." - Psalm 109:17
"And then I will declare to them,
‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’" - Matthew 7:23
"Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness." - 1 John 3:4
"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." - John 8:36
Blessings to you in Jesus' name!
