Once I get started listening to some of the older southern gospel music, it is hard to stop, it brings back so many memories. I need to pull out some of my old albums and cassettes! Among the quartets, I don't think there was ever a better one assembled than the Gold City Quartet when Brian Free and Ivan Parker were still part of the group. I am going to try to post links to one of my all time favorites, and a couple where you can hear what great harmony they had. The only quartet I can think of that was in the same company with them was the Cathedral Quartet when Kirk Talley was still part of the group, although they still had a great sound with Danny Funderburk when he took over. As good as they were, I still loved Gold City.
