I often cover my head as directed in Corinthians as a sign to the angels.
I do this either by a fabric covering or by placing my hand to cover my forehead.
I used to just try this to be obedient to Scripture.
In my understanding it is a symbol of authority to angels (good ones and the evil cousins), To Jesus Christ and to your husband.
I practice this for all three reasons and I can testify that it makes a difference in spiritual warfare.
When my hair is exposed, I have racing thoughts and my emotions are more easily out of balance.
The covering is an outward sign that, as a woman, you agree with the Lord's order for man kind.
Christ is the head of man, and because Adam was first, Man is responsible to and has spiritual authority over women.

I highly respect women that wear head coverings, and it is an outward sign that a woman is under her husband's authority and God's authority, but long hair is the woman's natural covering. That shows she is following God's order, as short hair on a man does the same thing. If you like an actual head covering too, in addition to long hair, to me that is just going the extra mile.

Well Butero, my ideal hair length is very long and mine is growing back fast. But in my own dealings with spiritual warfare I think of the cloth covering as armor. You don't wear a metal helmet to enter your home. But it sure would come in handy if arrows start flying! So I think of the various degrees of coverage as "what is loving and suitable for this time?" Sometimes it's just a hand on my forehead when praying. Other times, it's a ridiculous pink turban made from a cardigan. In church, hopefully I'll get a hat. Though I think I pulled off the turban thing because I'm a black lady. In the psyche ward, I got away with all kinds of hats and coverings. It made for easy witnessing too.

A turban is not a good idea, as it can be taken wrong, but I think it is great you take this New Testament teaching serious. With my schedule, I have trouble getting to a barber regular, and I am not supposed to have my head covered with long hair, so I wound up buying my own barber shears so I can cut my own hair. I just cut it yesterday. It is not the easiest thing to do, and you can sometimes tell it wasn't done by a professional, but it is better than shaming the Lord, who is my head.

I get what you mean about a turban. No Islam, please. But in a cultural sense, we African-American women like to wear head coverings as fashion statements. And I weren't going to a Christian church this morning, or in a psyche ward where people know I'm a Christian, I would not wear a turban. All righteousness must be practiced on love and common sense.

Head coverings, especially the right hat, can look very nice on a lady.
