Two funny videos to share on this topic. Yet another reason why I don’t attend Sunday services.

True worship is a lifestyle -
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." - Rom 12:1-2
Most modern popular songs in church or on "Christian" radio make me cringe. And there are literally songs I cannot listen to, as they are way too fluffy. So many are opposite of what the Scripture declares. I have issues with most of the preaching that goes on as well. Honestly, why are we preaching an evangelical message IN the church? Once IN the church, we should be graduating from milk to meat. The "salvation" message is to be shared outside, not in, the church.
Yet, the Scripture also tells us - "let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." - Heb 10:24-25
So, I go to church mainly for others, not myself. Many do come to church to be 'filled up' or encouraged. The saints are to be communing and receiving of the Bread of Life at home, so that we are prepared to minister that Life and the Light to others who are in need and whose eyes may be shielded from the Truth that should be being preached from the pulpits. In doing do, God has given me much opportunity to teach mid-week services and Bible Studies (as I actually am tonight), where I can introduce Truth and plant seeds in those with ears to hear what the Spirit is saying. Amen.
