There are many false teachers today, telling the wicked that they are just fine. They are on their way to heaven because they believe in Jesus. They will tell them that salvation only requires "faith plus nothing" or that the only thing God requires is that we obey one commandment, that we believe on His Son Jesus Christ. These men are liars and deceivers! These men are children of the devil, who are disguised as sheep. There is no way to calculate the damage these men and women have done, in giving comfort to sinful Christians that later ended up in hell, trying to figure out how that was possible.
I remember years ago, an evangelist spoke of a vision someone had of hell. He saw a man walking through the flames, and picking people up by their hair and looking at their faces, and then dropping them back into the fire. The person having the vision asked the Lord what this man was doing, and he told him he was looking for the false teacher that told him he was alright with God in his sin. Let's look at what Ezekiel was told by God.
Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Before we proceed, I want you to notice something here. While God will hold the prophet responsible for not warning the wicked to turn, even if he fails to do it, and has blood on his hands, the wicked man will still die in his sins and go to hell. Ignorance or believing a false teacher or deceiving yourself won't save you. I believe that a lot of people hold onto the idea it will, but it won't. Blaming others for your dying and going to hell won't get you out, but you may see the false prophet or teacher joining you one day.
Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Once again, the person who dies in their sins winds up in hell, but if the prophet is faithful to warn him or her, he shall deliver his soul from that fate. Preacher man, tell the truth. I know it won't bring you big crowds and popularity, but it will save your soul.
Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul
This is serious business, yet too many are playing games with God and His Word, as well as the eternal fate of others. Now is the time to issue warnings, not to pat people in sin on the back and say that God understands and all past, present and future sins are under the blood, when they are not. Hell enlarges itself to receive sinners, but it will also be filled with false teachers that told them there was no need to repent.
