is the title of this thread How you feel? do you have fears? do you worry about things? Now let me ask you... what can you point to in your life that is evidence of God being in your life? even something we think is tiny?
what is worry? worry is an overwhelming concern for something that in reality, you have no power to change. The bible tells us not to worry. and why?
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Heb 11:2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Heb 11:2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
You see by worrying you cant change the color of your skin just like a leopard cant change its spots. you cant worry and ad one day to your life.
do you see a mountain in your life, a mountain of problems, things falling apart? everything messing up? and then you dwell on these things. looking at your problem, yes? where is the substance of the things you hope for in this moment? where is this faith? we cant impress God. only faith pleases God, and by it the elders obtained a good report.
but there is even more. maybe God has blessed you and things are messing up now. you feel discouraged? you want to give up... crawl under a rock and forget all yall i aint coming out. we have all felt like this at some point. but this is not faith. we cant look at our problems that discourage us. we cant allow an attack of the enemy to spoil our blessings from God... for the enemy to steal our joy and peace.
worry is the very opposite of faith.. when we worry we are filled with fear. fear that something undesirable is inevitable. worry and fear is the absence of us trusting in God. Lets look at something Jesus told one of His disciples:
Luk 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
Luk 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Luk 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
we have an intercessor. Jesus Christ prays for us. so stand on the Word, stand on the promises of God because not only is He Faithful... He has overcome the world and the enemy. He has prayed for you that your faith will not fail when the enemy would attack. and Jesus is even looking further down the road as it says His prayer is to later be that Simon could strengthen His brethren. sometimes we are in our "stinking thinking" and totally unaware that God has plans for us that far exceed what we see as a mountain of problems that overwhelm us.
do not let this be you. overcome by problems. Jesus said be of good cheer. He has already overcome.
switch gears and start thanking and praising. and just keep standing on Gods word and promises. God will Help you, and He wants to... but not if our mind and heart is going away from Him in doubt and fear and worry. start thanking and praising Him and watch Him show up.
