Hear another parable; There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

Did ye never read in scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

God the Father owns everything. We may own property as far as the world is concerned, but we dwell here at the Lord's pleasure. It is God's world. He has sent representatives to his people and they were mistreated. He was speaking to a Jewish audience at the time. One prophet after another was persecuted. Finally, God sent His own son Jesus Christ, and rather than show him reverence, they killed him hoping to take his inheritance. The question was asked, what will God do to those wicked husbandmen? His audience did have an answer.
They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
So the world is seen as a vineyard with fruit. What is the fruit? The servants are prophets and the son is Christ, but what of the fruit? After the audience responds to Jesus, He says that the stone the builders rejected has become the head of the corner. Of course, Jesus is the cornerstone the Jews rejected that became the head in spite of them. The kingdom will be taken from those who rejected the Lord and given to others. Today, that is mostly gentiles. Those the Kingdom will be given to are those who will "bring forth the fruits thereof. Again, what are the fruits? Is it spiritual fruits? Those who fall upon this stone will be broken? Who do you think this is speaking of as compared to those the stone falls upon and grinds to powder?

The vineyard Jesus spoke of here was Israel (Isaiah 5). After the nation of Israel killed the prophets, and then eventually Jesus, the vineyard was lent out to Gentiles. Grafting was added to keep the vine healthy.
If we willingly fall upon Jesus, we are cracked open like the grain of wheat. If we wait for His wrath to come upon us, we’ll be destroyed.

And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them. — Matthew 21:45
They figured out the vineyard thing because Isaiah 5 was so well known.
