When it comes to new believers, how should we treat them and why? Do we look at them with suspicion till they prove themselves by their works and fruit, or do we accept them fully until they do things that show they can't be trusted?

I believe in accepting people till they show they are false, but I don't have scripture for that. I could change my mind.

You have a typo in your survey. You might want to ask John to fix it?

I guarantee if the person is of the wrong tree , their fruits will be made manifest . So worry not a bit over this . treat all , well and good . THEN WHEN THE FRUIT surfaces BEGIN the correction method .

I try to accept any new convert as fully saved and sincere. The same thing goes for any new member here. It is only if they do things to show they cannot be trusted or are not who they claim to be that I change how I view them. When a person gets saved, anything they did in their past is not counted against them by God. They are a new creature in Christ Jesus. For that reason, I don't worry about those things. It is who they are now that matters.

Not a problem.

I agree with that about being a new creature. If God doesn't hold their past against them, neither should we. I was thinking more about whether people need to prove themselves. I think I pretty much agree with what the majority is saying so far.
