I would like to know what others think this scripture means.
Deuteronomy 31:21 King James Version (KJV)
21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware.
Deuteronomy 31:29 King James Version (KJV)
29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

Even as Moses was warning the children of Israel to obey God's laws, he was telling them that he knew that in time, they would turn away from God's ordinances and corrupt themselves. He was giving them a song as a witness against them when this happened. Moses had a pretty good idea what the people were like from past experiences. In addition to that, God had already let it be known that in time, the people would turn out of the way. God is all knowing. Moses was giving them a song as a testimony against them when that happened. This very well could have been speaking of things they already experienced, and it could also be that plus what is to come? I think it is some of both.

I am thinking much of this was predicting the Holocaust... just a thought. That very well may have been part of it. The Jews were scattered because of their sins. Of course, they had gone into captivity and been severely punished by God many times long before that. You can point to a lot of times where they corrupted themselves and brought evil upon their nation.
