Naaman was a might man of valor who had leprosy.
He was offended by the simple command of the prophet Elisha to wash seven times in the Jordan.
2 Kings 5:13-14 King James Version (KJV) 13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
The Bible is a simple solution to gaining wisdom and fruitfulness. Yet many are offended by the suggestion to read it more.
They're happy to read Christian books and follow strange teachings. But the Bible? Nah, better leave that to the experts.
The simplicity of Christ is a stumbling block to many people, who are looking and looking for a solution but fail to see the truth right in front of them.
Simplicity offends our pride. We want to feel like we discovered some profound and mysterious new solution to a problem.
However, there's wisdom in knowing that most problems in life have a simple solution.

I agree with you Tabitha3319 . The Bible is not all that complicated, especially when it comes to practical matters. We can clearly see God's order and we have been given instructions about right and wrong. As God's representatives, we are to be light and salt. We are to spread God's truth, not our own opinions. My opinion, like the opinion of others, means nothing. The only opinion that matters is God's opinion. Unless our opinion lines up with what thus saith the Lord in the Bible, we are the problem. My goal is to line up with scripture as much as possible. When our society thinks we are more enlightened than the order laid out in the Bible, our society is the problem. As a Christian community, our goal should be to line up with scripture as much as possible.
A long time ago, I did much like the average person does today. I tried to follow God mixing my personal views with God's views. If you asked me what I think of any of the issues of our day, I gave opinions. How did I feel about gay marriage? I probably would have said something like it was no big deal, because it does not effect me personally. Seems like a reasonable opinion, based on a carnal mind. Today I oppose it, because God says it is an abomination, and I know that marriage was created by God between a man and a woman. How did I feel about feminism? I knew murdering unborn babies was wrong. I opposed murder no matter what, but as for other issues, what is wrong with it? The husband and wife both working, and the woman getting equal pay for a job a man does seem reasonable, but what is God's plan? God's plan is that the woman was created to be a help meet to a husband. It was the man's curse to earn a living by the sweat of his brow. The woman was to be a homemaker and raise the children. There is also an order in the home, where the husband is the head of his household. I realized that feminism itself was in opposition to God's order, so I oppose it now, all of it.
My point is, no matter what the issue is, we should look to the plain teachings of scripture, not our society, and not our personal feelings. There is a big difference between being led of the Spirit and being led by our feelings, personal likes and dislikes. We should all know our Bible, and know it well, and we should seek to follow it. To follow Biblical teaching is to follow God. To follow our feelings is not to be led of the Spirit. Those who claim such things are lying to themselves and others. Yes, let us return to the simplicity of the message of scripture.
