2 Thessalonians 2:11-13 King James Version (KJV) 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

2 Thessalonians 2:11-13 King James Version (KJV) 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
This is a very interesting passage for many reasons. First of all, it says that God will send this strong delusion. Most do not think that God would do that, and he does it so some will believe a lie. Why is he doing this? I believe it is like those mentioned in Romans chapter one. These are people whose heart is set on sinning continually. They love unrighteousness, so God simply gives them over to it. He lets them believe a lie. The end result is that they will be damned. Why? He gives us two reasons. First, because they believed not the truth. Notice it does not say they did not believe Jesus is who He said He is. It says they believed not the truth. Many claim to believe in Jesus, but it is not the Jesus of the Bible. Second, they had pleasure in unrighteousness. They loved to sin, and did not want to turn from it. God is not going to allow people like that into heaven. After saying this, Paul speaks to the true Christians and thanks God for them because they were chosen to be saved. First, through sanctification of the Spirit. They have been set apart to serve God. Second, they have belief of the truth. They do not just believe in the name of Jesus, and that he was a real person who died on a cross, but they believe in the Jesus of the Bible according to the truth. There is a lot in that passage of scripture.

There is a lot in that passage of scripture. People have to want to know God. Then He draws near. Most of us do not actually want Him.
