Yes, cast out YOUR feelings!
Our own feelings may try to overcome us daily, and we must watch and pray always so this does not happen.
These feelings include: worry, anxiety, fear, depression, anger, jealousy, bitterness, self-righteousness, pride and the like.
"For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find." - Romans 7:18
But I know, I know it is so hard sometimes... But what should we do anyway?!
If we just complain and believe we cannot control and overcome such feelings we will never improve.
“...According to your faith let it be to you.” - Matthew 9:29
We want to improve, even if we cannot do it now... We want to, and that is a very good starting point.
"Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”" - Mark 9:24
As it is written:
"For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." - Luke 11:10
And that is exactly where many people fail:
They do not ask; they do not seek; they do not knock... And consequently never obtain, find, or receive an answer.
The Lord is so good, and He is so willing to help us every single day... And what we have to do is indeed very simple:
“...Do not be afraid; only believe.” - Mark 5:36
Yes, as the Lord Jesus said:
"As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love..." - John 15:9-10
This shows us how light His burden really is...
"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." - John 15:7
Our feelings is one of the things which causes us problems every day, as we can see one of our biggest enemies is ourselves.
Our feelings often produces a very distorted view of reality, and we cannot see how simple things really are.
We just have to: Believe.
"He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." - John 7:38
The Lord Jesus is always there, always with us, always ready to help us at anytime. As it is written:
"Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you." - Isaiah 49:15
"...for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9
He will never forget you, He will never leave you... Do not forget Him and do not despise His powerful presence!
"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light..." - Ephesians 5:8
Let us start learning to: Cast out OUR feelings and welcome HIS!
"...I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." - John 10:10
"to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." - Ephesians 3:19
God bless you in Jesus' name! Amen.

God bless you in Jesus' name! Amen. Good reminders. Our own sinful nature is truly our worst enemy as Christians. We can never make a truce with it, and we can never forget its menace, or our dependence upon the Holy Spirit to subdue it and deny it. As Jesus said, the one who would follow Him must not only take up his cross but also deny himself, daily (Luke 9:23). Taking up one's cross is easier than denying oneself: A person can face persecution with pride in his heart, or with a self-righteous attitude, or with resentment toward his persecutors, and with his own glory at heart. But no one can truly deny him or herself in an unrighteous way; there's no wrong way to do that in truth. (There are wrong ways to do it, but there is no wrong way to do it the way God wants us to do it---which is in His power, not our own, and which is the only real way to do it. Every other way is vain and is not true self-denial.) ( We...) take every thought captive to obey Christ... (2 Corinthians 10:5) But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16) (That's not automatic; it's a conscious choice we have to make as Christians, day to day and moment to moment, whenever our own desires conflict with what we know God's to be and what He desires us to do and wants our attitude to be. If we choose not to do this, and choose the desires of our sinful nature over the desires of God, we will fall out of step with the Spirit and produce bad fruit.) If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. (Galatians 5:25,26) The night is far gone, the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. (Romans 13:12-14)

Psalm 42:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
Psalm 42:11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
Psalm 43:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
These verses tell us that we can trust and hope in God even through adversity, which brings heartache and pain. Not all emotions are bad or wrong. Even Jesus was at times angry (without sinning) and He also had sorrow (wept/shed tears). The enemy can get us off track if we get our eyes in the wrong place. The victory is in keeping our eyes on Christ!

Psalm 42 King James Version (KJV)
42 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
8 Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
9 I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
I love this chapter because it shows that life isn't always a bed of roses and yet, we can cry out, even pour out our souls to the Lord. He is our help and comfort! He commands His lovingkindness over us and He is our song in the night!

"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." - James 4:10
Whenever you cry, do so while believing in Him! It is powerful.
"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart — These, O God, You will not despise." - Psalm 51:17God bless you in Jesus' name!

We endeavour to not live by our feelings....but by God's word/truth. Nevertheless there are times when He is digging deep and weeding in the garden of our heart and we're going to feel some stuff that we might not even have realized was buried down there. The important thing is to be honest with ourselves and with the Lord and acknowledge what we are feeling, knowing that we are not condemned. The reason the Lord brings things to the surface is for the purpose of healing the problem, rather than letting it remain buried in darkness and out of our awareness, and this is one of the ways He works in us.

Yes! This has been my experience, exactly. There were things I didn't know were hidden deep inside, pain and brokenness I dissociated myself from and yet they were still effecting my daily life (unknowingly to me). The Lord wanted me free from those things and so He brought me to some places inside and in my past for the purpose of healing and freeing me. And they did being up painful emotions. But in order to heal, I had to feel ....my problem was that I had locked away my emotions so I wouldn't feel and it wasn't healthy. It also prevented my healing and freedom. So feelings do have a proper purpose. God doesn't expose our brokenness to leave us there writhing in pain and despair. He binds up our wounds and He is the lifter of our heads! Amen!

I have experienced this too. What God used to show me as a reference was this, and i have done at least 15 years of working with plants/trees/gardens. and i mean for a job for money, not just because i like it. even longer for enjoyment.
anyway, one day i was working in someones flowerbeds. there was a particular plant growing that the customer wanted out and new/different plants in its place. the old plants kept coming back. It was costing me lots of time and the company money on repeat warranty work. I learned that if even one tiny tiny piece of this plants root was left in the ground, it would quickly grow more roots and eventually the plant would grow up above ground. we had to remove all the plants carefully to replant, then dig deep, real deep, elbow deep, and search meticulously for even the tiniest part of the root and remove it. It was dirty work because you cant use rakes and garden hoes for this. had to be done by hand. But afterwards, the desired plants/growth could flourish without struggling with other plants. the end result was aesthetically pleasing.
Our heart is Gods dwelling place. He wants it clean in there.

We should never do things based solely on personal feelings. That is true when those feelings are causing you to doubt God's abilities or when you deceive yourself into believing that every thought you have is God speaking to you, even if it contradicts scripture.
