GOD OF TRIUMPH
(1) A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
(2) Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
(3) But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
(4) I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
(5) I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
(6) I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
(7) Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
(8) Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. Psalms 3:1-8 KJV
God is a God of Covenant: God is a God of his People; and the Gentile has been engrafted into the Holy Vine and we have become a part of the Commonwealth of Israel and beneficiaries of the prophecies, the promises, and precepts found in the Old Covenant and established in the New Covenant through the blood of Christ Jesus.
Today we see the results of the cancel culture movement the anti-freedom mindset of those who are desperately wicked in their hearts and actually hate anything that is associated with the Christian God and Christian values. It is true the forces of darkness inhabits the minds of many in the world and are perverting the world through their doctrines of devils.
In the above passage we see that David’s own son led a successful coup against him, and even many of his own friends and allies forsook him and joined forces with his rebellious son. The division was so great that many began to say there is no help for him concerning God. Even Saul’s family joined in mocking him as they were banished from Jerusalem. But when David wrote this psalm in remembrance of the occasion we see exactly how much he trusted God through the ordeal. In the end the tragedy of his son was that he lost his life because it was not God’s will for him to be the King of Israel. It hurt David deeply that he lost his son even though that son was so rebellious. A parent’s love for their children runs deep even though those children might not see it.
Brethren in this world there will be rebellions and divisions that are heart wrenching and hurt to the core of our being. Yet even when we’ve failed on our part in some capacity or even sinned God is able to touch our hearts in the situation bring out of us the needed repentance and then defend us from those who mean us harm. It gives us strength to stand against the fear which is intended and whole heartedly trust God to defend and save us. The catch is this: when we understand that some situations are allowed for the purpose of showing us a particular flaw or sin that God will not allow to continue in our lives; we must receive that knowledge with humility. We understand that all things do work for the good of those who are the called and who truly love God; they work according the will of God for the purposes of God.
In these times we are seeing the fulfillment of many of the prophecies of the Old Testament and New Testament coming to pass. Our spiritual discernment should be sought highly for if it were possible even the elite or in other words God’s people could be deceived. Many are proposing new age doctrines that have nothing to do with God or the Bible in these days. We are seeing many movements that are the antithesis of Christianity being accepted by multitudes around the world. Do not think it is a strange thing when you are attacked for your faith; but trust God to bring you through to the end and when the fight of faith is over you shall receive a crown of life. Selah
