Hi guys, God is so good, and he is worthy of all our praises.
I have been studying psalms 103 lately.
And it starts like this:
Psa 103:1-3 (1) A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. (2) Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: (3) Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
There are awesome benefits in God's word, and many times I would quote just this part of Psalms 103, but the list of the benefits continue even after verse 3, which here are other benefits:
Psa 103:4-5 (4) Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; (5) Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

One part I want to focus on, is the part that says that thy youth shall be renewed like the eagle's, I just want to see the thoughts people have on this, God is good.

its spiritual my friend . There is no joy like the JOY in the LORD . Let us speak the things of GOD . Oh no doubt it is spiritual, but nevertheless I want someone to elaborate on it, give a little bit of explanation of it, and in in what way is it saying this. Just a bit more detail.

One part I want to focus on, is the part that says that thy youth shall be renewed like the eagle's, I just want to see the thoughts people have on this, God is good. Amen, the Lord is good. It's good to meditate on His word. To the unbeliever this seems to be speaking of salvation and being restored to innocency in God's sight. To the believer it speaks of restoration after a season of devil's attacks and God's chastisements, like where another psalm 23 says He restoreth my soul. We need to be refreshed and restored now and then, times when we get weary or discouraged. Renewed like the eagle....eagles moult their feathers...maybe alluding to us moulting more of our flesh, the weights that hinder so that we can fly higher in the Lord on the wings of His Spirit, like the eagle. It reminds me a lot of Is. 40 that says they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles....similar picture. If we wait on the Lord, trusting in Him and resisting temptation to take things into our own hands in disobedience to His leading...this is like Jesus going to the cross in obedience to the Father. (Might also be a picture of His strength being perfected in our weakness.)

Who REDEEMS thy life from destruction . CHRIST JESUS DOES THAT . FAITH IN HIM . It does speak of salvation . And who satisfies thy mouth with good things . EVERY WORD OF GOD IS AS HONEY TO THE TASTE of a lamb Our joy is renewed in the LORD . For the joy of the LORD is our strength .

Amen!
I think it might be this kind of restoration that Ps. 103 is talking about:
Psa 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Psa 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Heb 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
In God's dealings with His people, we get dunked into the crucible, then lifted out, then dunked again for a season, then restored, then dunked again, and restored again. There is another Psalm that depicts this, can't think which one at the moment. We go through different seasons in the Lord, according to His will and plans and purposes for our lives.

Here is a good comment, on the renewed like the eagle's part:
(Jamiesson Faussett Brown)
(Psalms 103:5 By God’s provision, the saint retains a youthful vigor like the eagles (Psa_92:14; compare Isa_40:31).)
And here he mentions 2 verses, which are these:
Psa 92:14 (14) They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
Isa 40:31 (31) But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
When you rest in Christ, your spiritual strength gets renewed, and inside you feel awesome, and what you are doing is you are allowing the Holy Spirit to do his work in you, you are casting all your cares upon him, and allowing his word to renew you and strengthen you, it is like you are mounting up with wings as an eagle.
You can kind of say that you are soaring in the Lord.

Physically, we will all continue to age, but the Lord can restore us spiritually. It is easy to get weary and feel like an old man or woman because of the things taking place in this sinful world, but God is able to renew us when we rest in Him. That is what it means to me.

Verse 3: who forgiveth all thine iniquities.
Oh praise the Lord. Where would I be without the Lord's forgiveness and His power to restore! Its because of His forgiveness that I can continue to lift my head.
Verse 5: Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles
Yes, the Lord is so good and He showers me with blessings every day! I found a bike path through the forest yesterday.
Walking through the woods gave me a sense of awe. Like I was a kid again. When we delight in God's creation and His blessings, it rejuvenates us and gives us youthful vigor.

Glory to G-d, I love psalms as the bible says we should be praising the lord.
