Seize the day, in the mighty name of Jesus!
(12) Therefore, let the one who thinks he stands take heed, lest he fall.
(13) No temptation has come upon you except what is common to mankind. For God, Who is faithful, will not permit you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear; but with the temptation, He will make a way of escape, so that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:12-13
Please notice that the scripture says “He” will make a way of escape, so you will be able to bear it. In other words if we truly don’t want to endure the trial we must look to God’s delivering power to manifest and clarify the way to escape the temptation. Temptation in this passage of scripture is basically the trying of our faith. Why? Because; it is allowed to prove our faith and reliability; hence our dependence upon God!
(12) Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
(13) But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
(14) If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 1 Peter 4:12-14
When trying times come; it is for the purpose of God’s glorification; if we rely upon his strength to carry us through. How can we do what is good without being persecuted in some form or fashion from the world that calls good evil and evil good. The answer is that: we can’t!
Give careful consideration to the things that I am telling you, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things. 2 Timothy 2:7
Brethren even though we go through trials; it’s God’s will that we go through it with joy! I know that is hard to understand especially when trials can be so severe and enduring. But the joy of the Lord is a strengthening dynamic the enables us to endure the most enduring hardships. Unfortunately when many Christians are going through trials; they get depressed and give in the suggestions of the adversary or start to blame God or others; when it is their own weakness. Instead they should call upon God for the way of escape and believe he hears the cries of the righteous and delivers them out of all their afflictions.
Brethren we can let the day seize us or we can seize the day in the Name of Jesus and gain the victory through the power of the Holy Spirit. I choose to be a winner; not a whiner! Seize the day or the day will seize you! Selah!
