Since the Supreme Court made the decision to overturn Roe verses Wade, and give more freedom back to the states, I have witnessed both good and bad in America. I have witnessed states turning things right and changing the laws to give full protections to unborn babies. I have also seen other states do just the opposite and even allow infanticide in certain cases. There are also states that have been in the middle, where they have regulated abortion, but not stopped it entirely.
The same thing is happening in other areas as well. We see states that are fighting to stop the influence of the homosexual community while others are embracing the entire LGBTQ agenda, and even going so far as to fly the rainbow flag at the state house in celebration of "Pride Month."
This is how things are going in America. Some are choosing the right path, others the wrong path, and some the path of least resistance, populism. I believe this is from God. He desires us to all be righteous, but He gives us free will to choose our course. God raises up our leaders, but they must choose whether to govern righteously or un-righteously.
I fear for America. I look at the wickedness that is spreading across this once great nation, and I wonder how much more patience God has left. We can look to the Bible and the way He treated the nations of Judah and Israel when they were guilty of sins, and America is no better. We are guilty of the exact same things. The land is celebrating sodomites. Children are being sacrificed in the name of choice. Idol worship is everywhere. How long will it be before God says enough, and brings disasters or foreign invaders?
Sadly, there is little we can do to stop the advancement of evil. We can and should vote for the most God-fearing and righteous candidates, but sometimes we still lose because the majority wants evil, or as was the case in the 2020 election, there is outright theft, and the loser is declared the winner. All we can do is be a light and salt, acting as a preserving effect on the land.
While it is not possible to prevent the spread of evil, I do believe God takes notice of when we are choosing right, and that He is well able to protect His own, even when He sends judgment. We also know that if we as Christians die, we simply move to our new home in Heaven.
I want to encourage everyone to pray and seek the face of God, and to separate as best you can from the wicked in the land. Do not compromise and do not go along to find acceptance. Stand firm for Biblical values and trust God to take care of you. I am grieved at much of the evil I see around me, but I know I serve a big God that is well aware of everything taking place and, in the end, He is going to set things right permanently. The devil's time is running out.
As Joshua spoke to the children of Israel, he wanted to make sure they were committed to serving the Lord. Here his words and consider them.
"Now therefore fear the LORD and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve..." Joshua 24:14-15
"Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after he hath done you good." Joshua 24:19-20
After the people chose the Lord, Joshua gave them this final word.
"Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel." Joshua 24:23
I want to encourage every Christian living in America or any nation where you are vexed by the evil. Do not become fearful, because God is with you. At the same time, we are called to separate from the evil, and be a peculiar people that represents God in this world. Just as God was with Moses and Joshua, he will be with us, but we must serve Him faithfully.
I will leave you with these final reminders from the New Testament.
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." 2 Corinthians 6:17-18
"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." 1 Peter 2:9
