Also Poonen mentions this scripture:
Joh 14:15
(15) If ye love me, keep my commandments.
And of course we should obey God out of a love for him.
But now here are rapture verses:
Mat 24:44-51
(44) Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
(45) Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
(46) Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
(47) Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
(48) But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
(49) And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
(50) The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
(51) And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Here it says to be ready, how?
Well in verse 45 it talks about being a faithful servant.
So we must continue on in the faith, and continue to walk in his love and in holiness.
And continuing in faith , love and holiness, will enable you to be ready to meet the groom.
For you want to look your best for the groom (spiritually speaking).
So yes the rapture should cause you to walk in a deeper walk with the Lord, and it is not in the fact that you will be caught by the Lord, in doing
something bad as Poonen says, which I find he is unnecessarily condemning people for nothing, but rather because the groom is coming, and you want to look your best for the groom because you love him.
Plain and simple, and I think it is to stir us up, in a way that we do not lose hope, and in a way that it stirs us up to always continue on with the Lord.
It is to encourage us (comfort yourselves with these words).
Always because of love of course.
And in truth anything can be taken the wrong way, if you set your mind to receive it in the wrong way.
