You should know me by now, I like to speak about the things no one mentions or pays attention to, otherwise we just constantly go over the things we already know. The spirit cannot grow like this, or it will stay stagnant. The spirit must always keep us moving, growing in the knowledge of truth, ...it never ends guys. The Lord wants us to get us excited over his Word to see who's paying attention?. Every single Word was spoken to us is for a reason. It's not just hot air, but has substance, depth. I am just trying to share that same excitement I have, and hopefully it will be contagious. The Lord has given us so much in his Word and it should never get boring but always moving and leading to better things.
My question?
Does anyone see a question anywhere in this? Anything unusual?
Isaiah 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
Isaiah 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Isaiah 53:8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
Isaiah 53:9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
Isaiah 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Isaiah 53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

I am not sure what you are asking specifically Sister......but all I know is that is a very encouraging passage for those who walk the same path in following Him.

Several interesting details are buried in that passage. Like watchful, I'm not sure exactly what revelation you see.

I have an uncle who is in his 80's now. He's the one who led me to the Lord. He would drive me crazy, and I would have to find the question myself first before I could answer. Sometimes it took me hours, sometimes days, but it kept me on my toes and made learning fun. He was training me to not just skim over, but to carefully read each word in a passage and explain my understanding. I think this is why I explain scriptures a lot. If I came to a halt and couldn't explain something then I found the question, the next thing was to find the answer, so I had to search through the scriptures, or go back and remember something I had read somewhere else. When I found the answer it was so rewarding, and a little rejoicing going on. We have to try on our own first and not be spoon fed. When God knows we are hungry for the understanding of his Word, he will send a little help. I am not saying we can't help each other, but just trying to make it fun. I am definitely no teacher, but love sharing with others who love the same. Never give up too quick. Have another look tomorrow and you might see something unusual slipped in there.

I think most of it is pretty obvious, but I did look for possible hidden truth, and here is what I came up with. That during the millennial reign, Jesus will share the spoils of war with those who fought beside him at Armageddon, and he will also share power, though he remains Lord of all. We will rule and reign with him. There is also the matter of declaring "his generation." I take that to be those declaring his soon coming Kingdom. John the Baptist first declared that the Kingdom of heaven is at hand. How much closer are we now to seeing it on this earth.

A couple of things. First, am I even in the ballpark of what you wanted us to see? Second, don't sell yourself short. You clearly are a teacher, but your main area is prophecy. We all have unique talents and callings. That seems to be how God uses you.

...I am not saying we can't help each other, but just trying to make it fun... Well, I believe very few, if any, knows of everything written in scriptures. We all know something, I believe it is good to share what the Lord has revealed to us and learn more. You talk about things I did not know. It is interesting to share with one another. God bless you in Jesus' name!

Ok, this is where I saw it;
Is there anything unusual in this verse. If you had to explain it, how would you explain?
Isaiah 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

Thanks Sister. I have always taken that to mean that Jesus grew up before the Father as a tender plant. Dry ground would indicate the people wouldn't be receptive to him. No form or comeliness that the people would desire him is the way he appeared after he was beaten and abused. That is how I have taken it. I am not sure about anything unusual.

That passage goes in chronological order of events. Jesus is raised up, has a controversial ministry full of rejection and loneliness, is arrested and beaten, the sheep scatter, He is silent during His trial, He's brought under judgment, death sentence to blot Him out from history, He dies as a sacrifice, completes His work in the kingdom of death, then brings intercession and justification to many.
As such, in my personal view, the remark that He has no form or comeliness can't really be about His body on the cross.
This has something to do with a greenshoot emerging from unfertile soil. I don't have much time to deliberate further, and I don't want to step on Sister's toes, so I'll wait to see what direction this discussion goes next.

I just want to say that this is not a question that was posed to me in the past. It's not a rehearsed question but something that stood out the other day when I was reading this chapter. I looked at it again, and thought wow, I never noticed that before and I'd read it so many times. I thought to myself,... see how we can miss things so easily by skimming over the things we already know? ..... and when the true deeper meat is given it becomes invisible to the eyes until the Lord is ready to show it.
What you wrote was all true, ...I really enjoyed your answers by hearing it from your perspectives, and everyone agrees the whole chapter is obviously speaking about Jesus, but what I found unusual is that it said;
Isaiah 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
Did Jesus not come in the form of man?
This raises a question?
How did Jesus have no form?
No form means no body.

Tie it all into the sentence . He has no form nor comeliness , when we shall see him , their is no beauty that we should desire him.
Meaning he did not come as one from high royal priesthoods , not as one who is as a king in kingly courts . He just came as a simply lowly man . The rich are decked in good apparral and men desire and praise them . But JESUS came as of the lowly and poor . And those types society despised .

Society does not see beauty in the poor , it sees beauty in the rich and goodly earthen treasure . THOUGH a KING , he simply came as the lowly servant .

Something very sad just occurred to me . Though JESUS is KING of all, he came as lowly and was amongst even his own and lived No better than they did . Was beaten and tormented. the early church leaders really remsembled JESUS . NOT SO TODAY. its all about the wealth , the cares and pleasures in life and men are exalted by men into such high esteem. WHEN it should have only been GOD who was exalted in heart . But the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that cast his net far and wide into the ocean and pulled many fish out of the sea. the bad were cast away and the good put into good vessels, so too shall it be At the end of this age .

Well I have some thoughts on that, Sister. We know that Adam was made from the dust of the earth.
From the depleted soil of the Last Adam there emerges a new creation, a vine bearing fruit, having no need to draw resources from its earthly station. Here is a man whose true life has nothing to do with His bodily form. He shows us how to be born of the wind, knowing not whence we come nor where we go. Life is no longer defined by what we see.
