Some of us may have been around in the days of Kathryn Kuhlman. Some even saw her on TV where she often told them to touch the TV to receive healing. Some did.
Then today, sometimes a reputable TV person might do a similar thing. So I did this and one person I mentioned in prayer is a 23 year old autistic kid with FAS. (My friend's foster child since 6 months old.) My friend mentioned that he said recently some intelligible words.
I wonder about all this often. Then I was directed to Yeshua and the Syro-Phoenician woman. Yeshua said, “O woman , your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish.” And He said to her, “Because of this answer go; the demon has gone out of your daughter .”
Yeshua often remotely healed others. There are accounts of handkerchiefs doing this and the famous accounts of Smith Wigglesworth in this regard.
Having witnessed some healings and even maybe been involved in some of them, I see that for a lot of people (especially moderns) this is a difficult thing to fully come to terms with. We are very 'practical' and the actual insubstantial part of our belief system is very hard to fully embrace. We are not as superstitious as our forefathers and think that we should guard against any kind of supernatural happenings. In fact we are afraid of the none substantial and repeatedly display this fear by warning out against false spiritual experiences. We are very materialistic and this tends towards unbelief.
Perhaps unbelief is our worst enemy. If we cannot see it and touch it we seem to be afraid of it.
The Lord heals and delivers remotely. Thinking about this, it makes sense that The Spirit does not have our boundaries and physical limitations and can just act wherever or whenever His Presence is required. So when the incorporeal Spirit that brooded over the deep comes to visit healing upon us we should not be surprised. Yeshua often moves in these mysterious ways that sometimes will unnerve us materialists.

God's Spirit is not limited in what he can do. I believe that God can use an anointed prayer cloth to heal, and he can heal if a group of people get together and agree for someone, even if we aren't there to lay hands on them. I think that is one reason we have so many different examples of ways people got healed. They are there for our examples, to show you can't expect God to do things in a certain way every single time. God used a prayer cloth, dipping in the Jordan, clay, and the spoken word to heal.
I once heard an evangelist talk about a person in a mental asylum. The family was convinced he was possessed, but he was diagnosed with mental illness. They wanted the evangelist to pray for him, but the hospital wouldn't allow it. They wanted an anointed prayer cloth sent to him, but they wouldn't allow that either. Finally, someone suggested that since they were allowed to send him candy, the minister could anoint a box of chocolate and send it. He did, and the man was cured when he touched it. We should never limit God.

"for in Him we live and move and have our being..." - Acts 17:28
"Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man." - John 1:51
"But say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”" - Luke 7:7-8
"...I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!" - Luke 7:9

I think it's good to spend more time looking at the genuine than the false, overall. If we ask for the Holy Spirit He will not give us a snake, and if we ask for bread the Lord will not give us a stone.

Amen, all things are possible if we believe, and Lord I believe, but Help my unbelief. You know what else is needed brother.....discipling. I bet if a few around here were able to go out together, there would be some miracles.....those with the most faith could lead and set the example, and then that would encourage and embolden the others.

Act 19:10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks. Act 19:11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: Act 19:12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
Act 5:15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. Act 5:16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
And dont forget about when Jesus felt the anointing leave Him and he turned and asked... who touched me?
I cant speak on the anointing well enough to explain it. but One time i had a discussion with an angel and before He left he poured something over me. after that for quite awhile The Gifts constantly were flowing, I was praying in tongues for about two weeks, every waking moment. when I spoke to people there was such wisdom in the words peoples eyes would bug out, especially unbelievers. I had a lot of experiences during that time a lot of revelations and epiphanies. What i can say is that as far as the handkerchiefs go the anointing kinda passes on, like if you had oil on your hands, best I can explain it. as far as remote healings go, God is omnipresent. there is no Box. There is no time constraint. He can speak in the present, change the past and the right now be altered. There is absolutely nothing that God can not do. there is only one thing He wont do, which is sin. There was so much power/authority in me at that time I was not allowed to speak freely because I could have messed stuff up. the scripture about faith of a tiny mustard seed is different from faith unto salvation. faith in spirit is tangible, I know that sounds like a walking contradiction but its not. Many wont receive this, but I have seen it and felt it in me. This faith. There is a gift of Faith. it runs with healing and miracles. Miracles can be something like saying to this mountain or sycamore tree to be cast into the ocean. When God said let there be light... when God created creation it was done by this faith. its not a belief, its a knowing that by speaking it can be so. Most people who are genuine christians and have the gift of healing have only experienced a small portion, which is all thats needed. Just a drop of this oil. Just a tiny tiny mustard seed.
God is more than able. Just look around you. at the forest. at the mountains. at the ocean. at the sun and moon and stars. the land beneath our feet. the animals. He made all of it. If He can do all that, remote healing is just a small thing, like a mustard seed.

its not a belief, its a knowing that by speaking it can be so. It is a perfect confidence that what you are saying will come to pass.
You can be doing something that you have never done before, but you just feel a security that it will happen.
It is like you were doing something trivial, you feel nothing, it is just as sure as dropping a cup of water onto the ground.
What will happen?! You know.
"For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says." - Mark 11:23

The Lord at certain times and places used certain people. Maybe you got a hammer that you never used, but one day you use it once to bang a nail. Was that hammer blessed for all time? I doubt it.
I have seen that the Lord is NOT a respecter of persons. It is His Grace that performs anything, so just because I was 'the hammer' once upon a time does not mean very much at all.
As a good example of a failed person in all respects, it has pleased the Lord to use me on occasion. No bells and whistles or smoke and mirrors - JUST WOW - like lightening.
When we hear of folk being used for supernatural things, why do we jump up and down and have this innate need to COUNTERFEIT it all and like a bunch of natives do some kind of war dance to invoke the spirits? Just because the Lord chooses to move thru a particular person at a particular time does not mean we need to erect a statue of that person.
If we are a conduit for God's Grace we should just get into the habit of blessing people and praying for them and laying hands on strangers. Why not? So many people think God is against them. They see Christians beating on each other and think the Lord is a hard task-master and therefore must hate them.
Just greet the next stranger you meet with a smile and a "good day". We are supposed to be a light in the world not a suppository.
P.s. God is continually performing miracles. There are roughly 7 billion on our planet. Do the math. How many miracles in your town today? Tomorrow? Next week? Go figure that. He enjoys fixing what the devil broke, stole or killed.
Join in and see what the Lord will do next.

While I know the gifts are real and let us rejoice in the LORD . Just a quick reminder , please investigate her and benny hinn. Yes . do be careful on that . BUT WE know the gifts are real . The biggest problem seems to be when people lift up the mere human vessels that God uses.....if we dont' lift anybody up to put them on a pedestal, then there is no problem, they don't become a snare.....as Jesus said to forbid them not from doing miracles in His name. Let the wheat and tares grow together and in the end it will be seen which is which. The problem with mass media is that by its nature it lifts people up....anybody in a spotlight has been, well, spotlighted. And that is when they tend to become an idol and snare. Doctrine and attitude or behaviour are different matters, of course. But as regards miracles we just must not idolize such things...enjoy them and glorify God and be in awe of Him, but at the same time remember it is just in a day's work for Him and normal.

Yes Watchful. To the Lord, (yawn) just another miracle (ho-hum). What He wants is our devotion and friendship. Not for what He can do but for WHO He is.
However, He just carries on regardless; He has mercy on whom He will have mercy, and blesses whom He will bless.
Our ways are often too lowly for Him, yet He stoops to our level continually. How He must drum his fingers on His heavenly table when we get carried away with what we think we know. Just imagine Him leaning forwards in His Heavenly Seat just waiting for us TO GET TO THE POINT... It is thanks to Him that there are BILLIONS of people on His planet, else He might get bored with our continual antics...
We may take ourselves just way too seriously at times. I am not one for pedestals. I have watched the histrionics from time to time and mostly they leave me cold. However, the occasional person is still healed in those giant media TV splurges. Not BECAUSE of the evangelist, but IN SPITE of the evangelist I think.
One thing is for sure - The Lord High God has a sense of humor!!

Amen.....He will sometimes do miracles even in the midst of a mess of error.....out of mercy. And also in answer to the faith of those who might be entirely sincere in seeking Him, but came seeking in not the best of places...maybe because miracles were just not happening anywhere else. And it teaches us that we are not to look to miracles necessarily as confirmation at all that God is pleased with everything that is going on. Just a thought, but I even wonder if one lesson we are to learn from the account of Moses and his staff turning into a snake and how Pharaoh's magicians mimicked the miracle....whether that means we should not be too surprised if the devil shows up when there are genuine miracles around, and not to panic or shut everything down if he does. The Lord prepares our table in the presence of our enemies sometimes, not always in the midst of pristine circumstances (if we can make that application). Yes, He has a sense of humour, and uses it when it is profitable, as long as we don't over-indulge. There is a time to laugh and a time to be serious under God's heaven.
