God has completely fixed a little problem I’d been dealing with for years. If you are struggling with a memory, insecurity, or mental problem you can seem to get past, don’t give up. Healing comes!!!

God has completely fixed a little problem I’d been dealing with for years. If you are struggling with a memory, insecurity, or mental problem you can seem to get past, don’t give up. Healing comes!!! Good advice and encouragement. First forgive. It is/was what it is. Put it behind and don't be bitter as there are others that have it worse. Get out of the pit of self-pity and realize that you are only hurting yourself. If something happened in childhood, well, it happened to most of us. Wounded? Yes. Everyone is somewhat wounded. Get over it and put it behind you. This is a deliberate choice - only you can make it. God expects you to make this choice. Remember, the Spirit of God came and resurrected your spirit. It is WHOLE. God cannot live in a dirty place. So now, with God's help, you start to work on your soul and bring it into line with His designs. His Spirit. NO. It does not happen quickly sometimes. But it is happening regardless of how you 'feel'. With the Lord on your side, who can be against you? So drag your soul kicking and screaming into the Light of the Lord. He only wishes you well.

I think I should add to what I previously wrote. When we put on our various faces, we try to kid ourselves that 'all is well with us'. Truth is we are deathly afraid of anyone really knowing us for fear of rejection.
The most controlling of us are the most wounded souls. We feel that if we can control things, then bad stuff will not happen to us anymore. We are afraid to admit that we are not in control.
There are many and varied safety mechanisms we have adopted. Some are unconscious. But those around us can often see what is hidden from us. If they dare to point this out we often blow up in their faces. This should be an indicator of something in us, NOT THEM.
As previously stated. The Holy Spirit came to dwell in the believer and has begun the Work of Sanctification. He requires our cooperation which is often hard to do. Our spirits are revived yet our souls (bodies) have yet to be fully brought in-line with the Lord. He may take a lifetime to get us healed and seems to want to do it by stages. Sometimes we are frustrated by how we feel and pray up a storm expecting our many words to be some kind of fix. Meanwhile the Spirit is trying to get us to focus outside of ourselves and be an useful active member of His Body.
Our ways are often NOT God's ways. And His ways are far higher than ours. Sometimes to 'be still' is all He requires of us. If you happen to need to be in control, it is agony to sit still - but necessary.
We have to accept that the world will go on just fine without our tiresome controlling activities. So give yourself a break. Stop trying to prove something. Relax and smell the roses.

Additional comments. Most of us hate some part of ourselves at one time or another. We might think that therefore God feels the same. Loving yourself is not a narcissistic issue, since Narcissus was filled with hatred. If you cannot list the good things about yourself and how you might expand this list, then you are stuck with the bad list. Your history is not you future. You are not what you do. You are what you accomplish in some areas, but these areas are for your further growth. Do not let your accomplishments define you. Do not let what you have done (good or bad) define you. The only defining is who you are to the Lord and what He thinks of you.
Often believers seem to the outside world to hate and argue amongst themselves too much. The unsaved therefore might think that our God is similarly critical of us and all humans. We have given our Lord a bad rap sometimes. The Love He would like us to emanate seems to be often punctuated by dos and don'ts and a harsh attitude of judgement.
As the sticker says: WE ARE SAVED, NOT PERFECT. We must therefore IDENTIFY with the lost so that they do not feel excluded from a Love that was first shown towards us. He Loved us while we were yet sinners!!
It has been said that if we do not love ourselves, how can we love others? If we do not have love, what is it that we ultimately share and give? You cannot give what you do not have to give. Start by accepting yourself in sincere humility. If you have no ax to grind you will be more secure in yourself and the Spirit will not be so restricted. He may shine out from you to others as He intends. It is a corporate thing, this Christianity. We all effect the witness of each other.
