Do you think that all those RCC members that put their trust in Mary think they are lost? One thing I know: God never told them they were saved.
Ask any of them if they are sure, many will say yes, but they are lying. God never said to them they were saved.
They never received a perfect assurance of their salvation, as only God can give that as He is the only source of truth.
Those who are sincere will follow their conscience, hear the voice of the Holy Spirit and receive salvation.
But if they resist and insist in the lie...
"but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation..." - Mark 3:29
"who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and
served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen." - Romans 1:25 I am not saying that God told them they were saved, but lied to them. I am just saying they believe they are saved. There is a distinction there.

"...If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." - Mark 9:23
Satan may believe that he can win against God, but that is not possible. God never told him that.
But he still insists anyway. Then I would say: Satan thinks he can win against God.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie — 2 Thessalonians 2:11
People can indeed believe a lie.

People can indeed believe a lie. Yes, people can believe a lie. But believing a lie won't bring nothing good.
"Therefore by their fruits you will know them." - Matthew 7:20

That is okay if you see a difference in thinks and believes, but some people truly believe a lie. They are totally convinced. Let me give you an example from scripture. 2 Thessalonians 2:11,12
And for this cause, God shall send them strong delusion, that they should BELIEVE a lie; That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
This is an example of what I was talking about where people believe they are saved and eternally secure, no matter how they live. They have pleasure in unrighteousness, and they believe that it is fine if they remain in their fornication or drunkenness or whatever because of grace. God sends people like that a strong delusion that they should believe a lie and be damned. You don't think those OSAS believers that live like the devil don't think they are saved? They think those who are trying to live right to remain in Christ are the ones who are lost, but not according to scripture.

Nothing good comes of it. We agree on that. But believing is not just believing the truth. People believe all sorts of things, and people can believe a lie very strongly. Muslims are willing to die with a bomb to be a martyr. They’re deceived, but they believe it enough to die for it.

John PG4Him Sorry, but in my mind believing is very different.
To me, believing is linked to believing something God has said.
Those who will believe the lie, as you mention, they will believe the lie and in that lie they believe the return will be good.
But God never told them their end will be good if they believe that lie.
I hope you understand. Blessings!

I understand what you’re saying, but it’s contrary to Scripture. Believe doesn’t automatically mean believe what God said. Pagans who worshipped idols didn’t worship them because they thought God told them to. God was nowhere in the picture. They believed in their idols with no concern of God.
