OH a gem , its a gem of beauty . A gem of beauty that got spotted . Turn to genesis chapter twenty eight . Verse twelve . And Jacob dreamed , and behold A LADDER set up on the earth , and the top of it reached TO HEAVEN , and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it . WHO IS that LADDER . the ladder that connects heaven to earth , man to GOD . WELL read this Jesus answered and said unto nathianel , because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree , believest thou thou shall see Greater things than these And HE said unto him , verily , verily , I say unto you, HEREAFTER ye shall see heaven OPEN , and the ANGELS of GOD asending and descending UPON THE SON OF MAN .

I was just reading that story about Jacob's ladder the other day, and you make a great observation here about Jesus being the ladder, but what do you suppose God was showing Jacob in the vision? Was he showing him that he had a direct path to God because of the covenant, or do you think it meant something else? That God and the angels of heaven were with him.

That is a good song. I have it on an album by the Steeles, if you remember them. Jeff Steele wrote the song, although he his family didn't have the version that charted.

I like gospel songs that talk about actual Bible verses. Not this repetitive worship stuff. Even when they mention the name of Jesus these days, it’s usually just, “la la la, I love You Jesus, oohh ahh, I love You Jesus.” They all sound like Jesus is their boyfriend. It’s dopey.
