Jesus gave us His commandments...they are written down in the gospels, and they are not burdensome. It's the Law that is burdensome, so much so that "neither we nor our fathers could bear it."

Act 15:8-10
And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
Rom 3:21-23
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; (well look at that, even the Law and the prophets witnessed to that day coming when Law would be obsolete) Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God Rom 10:12-13
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Rom 13:8-10
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Gal 5:13-14
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Love is the law that gets written on our hearts, on our consciences....not the ordinances of the Law which were nailed to the cross with Jesus. Do this, don’t do that, eat this, don’t eat that, handle this but don’t touch that…..were all nailed to the cross…..so that we could serve in the new way of the Spirit who simply does not lead us to sin. Having received the spirit of adoption we are now led by the Spirit as His sons and all we need to do is obey that love and conscience that He gave us, and His leading. Scripture says the Law is only for the unrighteous and sinners….to instruct, correct, or reprove the unrighteous, or if a believer is in sin or needs some instruction. We just need to receive God’s word on these things, and believe them. . DEUT.6:4-9 (NKJV) = 4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. . . LEV.19:17-19 = 17 ‘You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. 18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
19 ‘You shall keep My statutes. . . JOHN.14:15-24 = Jesus Promises Another Helper
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
Indwelling of the Father and the Son
19 “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?”
23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. . . Fyi, GAL.5:13-14 was quoted by Paul from the OT Law at DEUT.6:5 and LEV.19:18. By defining the 2 Great commandments of love at MATTHEW.22:37-40, it does not mean that Jesus Christ had abolished the other less great commandments/laws/Word of God, eg EXODUS.20:1-17, DEUT.18:9-14, LEV.10:9 & 18:22, etc. Not even housing cooperative laws in USA can just be just broken down into 1 simple law of love your neighbor as yourself. .......
MATTHEW.5:17-20 = Christ Fulfills the Law
17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one [c]tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
.
Gentile Christians who go and willfully sin or break the essential or non-burdensome laws/commandments/Word of God unrepentantly or ignorantly will likely not inherit the kingdom of God in heaven(GAL.5:19-21, 1COR.6:9-10, HEB.10:26-31, 1COR.5:5, REV.22:12-17) = the HOLY Spirit of God will not be dwelling/abiding in them any more, eg when they eventually lose faith, deny or renounce the faith, depart from the faith, etc. . Peace. There are many points you make I can agree with. The unnecessary controversies began with an attempt to make coffee unclean under the law of Moses, and your claims Jews are more moral than gentiles. We might differ in some instances on what is essential, but in principle, I can agree with much of what you just said. It comes across like you were trying to make a point, but used a poor example, and got locked in with it.

Meats and drinks , lest it be blood or drunkenness, cannot defile the man . Because they don't enter the heart . They are wonderful acts of worship . But neither eating nor abstaining saves or unsaves . We should fast often and I have no problems with any who hold a day above another day . Its that we should not condemn nor judge he who eats or he who don't eat . The thing so many mess up is when they start trying to make void the righteousness of the law . Example they say well its okay to eat pork now , so its okay for man to lie with man . Or its okay to eat pork now , so its okay to take a tattooe or a chip in Gods temple . The rightesouness of the law does not make void the law , Grace does not make void the law . it writes it on our heart and love fulfills the law . Now everyone here , knows I aint talking about that dung love they preach today . I am talking about the true Love that GOD sheds on hearts that rejoices IN TRUTH and NOT inquity . Love does fulfill the law , if we love our neighbor as our self , we would do them no ill will. we would not covet their wife etc , we would not leave an animal of theirs if we see it out wandering . we would return it , JUST like the law says . BUT we do it because we love them and desire good for them. IF even your enemies beast is wandering we do the same . See . but its not to earn righteousness, its simply the Love of GOD that has been shed on our hearts . NOW that love honors GOD , CHRIST , ALL HIS SAYINGS above all . IF we have that LOVE we have LOVE FOR ALL HIS SAYINGS ON OUR HEART . We experience this love , because GOD has shed it on our heart . But what chokes the word , lusts do , sin does harden a heart . Love warns and it rebukes , it corrects and it chastens all who HE has received . IF GOD so love us and corrects His children , THEN we having HIS SPIRIT would do the same to any we see in any error . IF the Love that comes from GOD is on our heart , ITS JESUS FIRST , LOVED Above all , and who we obey is who we love . From this springs all things necessary to walk as we ought , correct and warn as we ought . Never to let any of the brethren who err, just sit in that darkness and perish . Folks don't know love , because they don't know GOD . THEY don't KNOW GOD because they don't KNOW THE SON and they wont learn the SON because the love of GOD is either not in them , or it was and some lust choked it out . Men and women , all of mankind will sit under and do whatever pleases their heart . THUS its cleary seen who Loves GOD and WHO loves the world . We gotta come back to bible only reading . Peter once was rebuked by paul for doing what I see some do today . They teaching folks to live as did the jew . To see according to the letter and not the Spirit . If truly we are well learned from Christ , then it would be Christ and no man we point too. The largest group of all, is the false grace group . These sell a grace so contrary to the true grace of GOD . The grace of GOD teaches us to deny evil lusts , wordly lusts , ungodliness and to be living righteously , soberly and godly as we await our LORD . Todays grace most sell , is no grace . A grace that leaves men in willfull sin and makes sin as no real threat , is not the grace that comes FROM GOD . EVERY word JESUS ever spoke is grace to our souls . And HE sure said , more than once , GO and sin no more . Its obvious the apostels heard him , they walked and taught the same way . Folks gotta come to CHRIST and then learn HIM daily . Get really dug deep into the bible and learn FROM HE who has saved us and The sound doctrine which makes us wise unto salvation through our faith in Christ . A lamb of the LORD will desire only truth and will feed from the pure green grass of the LORD and drink only from the pure waters of HIM . The smallest stench of mens nasty feet that has touched the waters or food , a lamb can whiff and gags . it has no desire to feed from the troughs or cisterns of mens fouled feet . FOR THE LORD has THEM and HAS GIVEN THEM a new heart with all new tastes and desires that hunger and thirst for RIGHTEOUSNESSS , TRUTH .

If you’re still counting on fleshly righteousness to give you an advantage over inferior “baby” Christians, and if you really think that obeying OT law makes you better than the brother sitting next to you of a different skin color, I’m sorry to say you’re preaching a different gospel. The gospel is not a way for dirty Gentiles to be given the favor of Jews coaching them on righteousness. It isn’t a way for Gentiles to come groveling to their superiors to show them how to be morally good. It isn’t about righteous Jews trotting into the heavenly kingdom already having their act together, already knowing exactly how to do this whole righteousness thing, but now with the added bonus of spiritual everlasting life. We don’t please our Lord and Savior by offering ourselves to Him as good people. The gospel calls each of us — whether a drug addict in prison or a meticuluous orthodox Jew — to fall at the feet of Jesus in recognition of our filthy rags, to become as little children, to count all former gain as loss, and to esteem others above ourselves. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. — Luke 18:11-14If you are not willing to publicly admit that you’re no better than a publican, you haven’t get begun to understand the work of the cross. I don’t know how much simpler I can make this. Such teaching as we’ve seen here lately is truly an attack on the gospel. . HEBREWS.10:15-18 (NKJV) = 15 But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” 17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” 18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin. . . Leaving behind the elementary principles of Christ, ie about how both Jews and Gentiles are saved from hell by faith in Jesus Christ alone and not by the good works of the Law, ....... for the already mostly Law-abiding Jewish Christians, eg ex-Jews like Apostle John, Peter and Paul, it was a simple process for God to implant His laws into their hearts and minds through His HOLY Spirit. But not as simple or easy for Gentile Christians, who were formerly mostly lawless wrt God's Law - not even with the liberation from His non-essential or burdensome laws at ACTS.15:19-29 & 21:20-25.(cf; the essential or non-burdensome laws at GAL.5:19-24, 1COR.6:9-11, REV.22:12-17) . IN ESSENTIALS UNITY, IN NON-ESSENTIALS LIBERTY, IN ALL THINGS JESUS CHRIST. Since you refuse to hear any sound counsel.... the Word of God testifies this..... pay careful attention, please. ~Peace.
Romans 2:5-27 5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; 10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: 11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; 13 (For not the hearers of the law [are] just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and [their] thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another; ) 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
17 Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God, 18 And knowest [his] will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law; 19 And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, 20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? 22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
23 Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God? 24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written. 25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.
26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? 27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither [is that] circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he [is] a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision [is that] of the heart, in the spirit, [and] not in the letter; whose praise [is] not of men, but of God.
Take note..... "...whose praise is not of men, but of God." So why then, do you boast in yourself or in man to lift one up above another?
Luke 18:10-14 10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
1 Peter 5:5 “Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.”
Revelation 3:16-20 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

IN ESSENTIALS UNITY, IN NON-ESSENTIALS LIBERTY, IN ALL THINGS JESUS CHRIST.
One thing I think we have to be careful about in this saying, even though there may be some truth to it, we have to be careful we do not make a doctrine out of this saying.
And we should be more concerned about what the word says.

It is like that guy who keeps saying "faith plus nothing." That is not scripture. It is a method of brain washing. I once had a Pastor that said God revealed to him the definition of grace, and he started using it as the definition. He would ask us to repeat what the definition of grace was week after week, but it wasn't the Dictionary definition. I never would accept that. We need to stick with the Bible. This is one way false doctrines are created.

Gentile Christians who go and willfully sin or break the essential or non-burdensome laws/commandments/Word of God unrepentantly or ignorantly will likely not inherit the kingdom of God in heaven... ... the HOLY Spirit of God will not be dwelling/abiding in them any more, eg when they eventually lose faith, deny or renounce the faith, depart from the faith, etc. . Peace. Then we have a contradiction here, my friend. Because, as the Word also confirms we also have a testimony from God.
Because many of us here, including John , Abby-Joy , frienduff does not follow the dietary law and still we have the Holy Spirit.
"And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is
the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him." - Acts 5:32
As it is written:
"Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the
neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?" - Acts 15:10
"For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things:
that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality..." - Acts 15:28-29
Then, if you keep the whole dietary law perfectly... And that is a must if you want to boast about it:
"For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all." - James 2:10
Or you keep all or you have kept nothing.
"But food does not commend us to God; for neither if we
eat are we the better, nor if we do not eat are we the worse." - 1 Corinthians 8:8
I am not saying it is bad to follow the dietary laws. You just cannot force people to do that and say they are condemned if they do not do so (which is a lie).
It is like me saying that you should drink only water, read the Bible for at least 8 hours a day and avoid all kinds of meat (including fish).
You cannot do that?! Well, what if I could and told you are going to hell if you don't?! Is that true? Obviously not.
"But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift." - Ephesians 4:7
"He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks;
and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.
For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself." - Romans 14:6-7
Following dietary law purifies no one's heart, food does not purifies anyone's heart. Then it is useless to be preached the way you are doing.
"Are you thus without understanding also?
Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him,
because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?" - Mark 7:18-19
And it is also confirmed here that all foods were made clean:
"...saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the
four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. In it were all kinds of
four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air.
And a voice came to him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”" - Acts 10:11-13
"For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving..." - 1 Timothy 4:4
"...What God has cleansed you must not call common." - Acts 10:15
Blessings to you in Jesus' name!. OT dietary or kosher food laws are non-essential or burdensome laws which Gentile Christians have been liberated from by God, as per ACTS.15:19-29 & 21:20-25, same as for the circumcision law. . IN ESSENTIALS UNITY, IN NON-ESSENTIALS LIBERTY, IN ALL THINGS JESUS CHRIST. . Peace.

Jesus gave us His commandments...they are written down in the gospels, and they are not burdensome. It's the Law that is burdensome, so much so that "neither we nor our fathers could bear it." . Fyi, JOHN.8:58 and EXODUS.3:14 say that Jesus Christ who gave His "new commandments", was the same I AM-God who gave Moses and the Jews the Old Testament Law. Christians who go and willfully sin or break the Law unrepentantly will not inherit the kingdom of God. .......
1COR.6:9-11 (NKJV) = 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were [d]sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. . .
GAL.5:19-21 = 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
. . In truth, the Lord Jesus Christ did not give any new commandments in the New Testament, ie the OT Law is still in force, eg today convicted murderers will usually still be executed or cursed to death by God and convicted thieves will still be jailed(DEUT.28:15, 1COR.5:5 & 11:30, 1JOHN.5:16-17). Repentant murderers and thieves can be saved from hell if they believe in Jesus Christ, eg LUKE.23:43. In the New Testament gospel, Jesus Christ only gifted "new" salvation through faith to those who believe in Him. It's a fallacy that God's Law no longer apply in the New Testament or no longer applies to Christian murderers, adulterers and thieves. It is only that in the NT the Law no longer saves from hell, ie only faith in Jesus Christ alone saves. This is an elementary principle of Christ which mature Christians should not dwell or harp too much on, as per HEB.6:1-8. ....... . MATTHEW.4:17 (NKJV) = 17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” . JOHN.3:16 = 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. . Peace.

20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. . Fyi, Satan can also quote the Word of God(MATTHEW.4:1-11). ....... pay careful attention please. There is a big difference between the Law written in the heart by nature(= conscience) and by God.
. It is true that God is impartial and no Respecter of persons(ROMANS.2:5-20), ie in general, God will bless everyone who does good and shuns evil(deeds/works) with a good and long life on earth, ie Jews, Gentiles, atheists, Muslims, Buddhists, etc. Conversely, God will curse everyone who does evil, including Jews and Christians(1COR.5:5 & 11:30, 1JOHN.5:16-17). Eternal life after death on earth is a completely different matter. ie salvation from hell is based solely on faith in Jesus Christ. The way to eternal life and truth(JOHN.14:1-7) also applies to everyone.
Eg a good and law-abiding Gentile atheist will usually also gain a good and long life on earth but will still end up in hell after his/her death, ie according to the Word of God. But the word of atheists believe that they will just die and disintegrate back into atoms and molecules or dust. OTOH, according to Scripture, a repentant sinner/evildoer/Law-breaker who dies young may still be saved from hell by believing in Jesus Christ, eg the young Jewish robber who was crucified next to Jesus at LUKE.23:43.
Similarly, a repentant Gentile alcoholic or drug-addict who comes to faith in Jesus Christ will still be saved from hell even though he/she usually suffers a not-so-good and short life on earth. As per ACTS.15:19-29, they should not be compelled by other judgmental Christians to be alcohol/drug-free(= the dangers of horrible withdrawal symptoms or Delirium Tremens). This is the same as Gentile Christians being permitted by God to remain uncircumcised and eat non-kosher foods. This does not discount miraculous healing of addiction by God/Jesus.

JOHN.3:16 = 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. . Peace. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. John 13:34
The law does remain in effect for the lawless who won't be led of the Spirit.
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Galatians 5:18
In reality, those who keep living according to the works of the flesh are under the schoolmaster of the law, and shall not inherit the Kingdom of God. That is what the Bible says, and there is no exception given to those who get saved.

. . JOHN.13: (NKJV) = The New Commandment
31 So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him. 32 If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately. 33 Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come,’ so now I say to you. 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”.This commandment of Jesus Christ is only "new" because the new Christian Apostles' new object of love is now their Christian brethren/sisthren, and no longer their Jewish neighbors/brethren. IOW, the New Testament commandment is "You shall love your Christian brethren/sisthren as yourself" and not the Old Testament commandment for the Jews, "You shall love your (Jewish) neighbor as yourself". Remember, the Apostles were "old" Jews who became new Christians. Should the Apostles still love their Jewish neighbors after the passing of Jesus Christ.? In short, Christians are to love their fellow Christians, and not Jews or their enemies. So, basically God's Law/commandments was not changed to new ones by Jesus Christ, eg "You shall not murder", "You shall not commit adultery", etc.(cf; MATTHEW.19:16-22) But when it comes to Christians, the OT Law can have new connotations, eg the Old Testament commandment, "You shall love God ..." becomes the New Testament commandment, "You shall love God/Jesus Christ ...".(cf; JOHN.14:15-24)...HEBREWS.10:11-18 = Christ’s Death Perfects the Sanctified
11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
15 But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” 17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” 18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.
. MATTHEW.7:15-23 = You Will Know Them by Their Fruits
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
I Never Knew You
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
. Peace.
