Based on what you know, do you think children of God have angels assigned to them, like guardian angels?

This is some dark stuff . But you know when the church began this big ado about taking GOD out of the box . Really this was all about taking satan out of the box and allowing a version of Him to be taught . They deny the biblical God under the guise of taking God out of the box. Back n my darkest days , I used to listen to a group called alice in chains . They sang a song of man in the box . take him out free him . And in that song it says JESUS CHRIST , deny your maker . That song was like a wicked prophecy of what would come to pass . A dark song , yet it its linked right to this Take God out of the box. The reason I brought it up , is because while I was searching for things that song popped up . And it is a dark song . Christains got no business listning to any secular music . And they sure have no business with this take God out of the box that the churches sold for years .

Witches actually sell a ouija board decorated in pretty colors to make it look like white magic instead of dark magic. They call it an angel board because it allegedly summons good angels. Yes, people are stupid enough to do this stuff.

I will say one thing here in absolute agreement with both Cletus and Frienduff. Flighty visions of an angel like a superhero doing marvelous deeds (or bringing spurious gospel doctrines) are foolish. Scripture tells me, and personal experience has shown me, that angels are indeed very businesslike, task-oriented, and abrupt. They convey to you exactly what you need to know, not one word extra, and they give no heed to themselves. If an angel tells you more about himself than he tells you about Jesus, he didn’t come from God’s throne. If he does a deed that seems really cool but won’t actually grow fruit, he wasn’t sent by God. We don’t have angelic encounters for the sake of entertainment, nor for the sake of “evolving” the gospel. Angelic encounters minister to us in practical ways as we draw ever closer to Jesus. very business like indeed. direct and to the point.
we should not fear angels, they are on our side and hidden from our eyes they do fight for us or wait to fight for us in ways we never see... but, we should also take into consideration what kind of creature this is. they can swoop down... in flight... scoop up Mt. Everest and fly it to the moon and set it down. when we are around a lumpy body builder who is perturbed and their speech reflects this, we tend to choose our words carefully. being rude to an angel and being disrespectful is not wise as a body builder has zero chance of overcoming an angel in battle.
I think I should add that the time in my life when God showed me this scripture i speak of I did not have the understanding I have now, and its very possible i would have said something out of line if i was irritated. I didnt really have the mindset back then to respect anyone or thing but God. I was still a baby in spirit.

I was in a very bad neighborhood once and needed to go to the store. there were some unsavory characters in the parking lot. selling drugs and some starting fights, or trying to. As i approached the store i was like great... here we go. I saw a huge figure made of light. over 8 foot tall. the light kind of shimmered and scanned down from head to toe. As soon as i saw this I felt safe as a baby in its mothers arms.
I do not know if they are guardian angels. I do not know if they are assigned to us individually. but they are around.
2Ki 6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

The guardian angel thing seems to be born from an impulse for us to have a sidekick. If we each have a “buddy” it’s one small step to thinking we can endear ourselves to this friend and somehow contact him. The fruit that grows from such doctrine is shaky.

I would advise anyone reading this not to ‘try’ to make contact with any spiritual creature, whether good or evil, in search of an experience. That is playing with fire. It’s one thing to deal with a spirit that gets in your business; it’s a very different matter for you to get in their business. Go about your work of ministering to others and living your life. If you need to hear from an angel, you will.

I do. I've seen mine in a vision. Though I've not thought of him for many years. I always give thanks to God, not my angel.

The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. Psalm 34:7

I do believe angels can be assigned to a person or a group for unspecified lengths of time.

I do believe angels can be assigned to a person or a group for unspecified lengths of time. We do know they can only be one place at a time, so that also brings up the question as to how many angels are there, and more specifically, assigned to this earth? Are there enough angels to where one can be assigned to every single Christian on the planet?

This is an interesting scripture to think upon:
1Co 13:8 (8) Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
What was it talking about at the beginning of the chapter?
1Co 13:1-2 (1) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. (2) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
And of course it says this:
1Co 13:9 (9) For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

Gifts of the Spirit, such as prophecies being spoken, messages in tongues being given and words of knowledge won't occur on a consistent basis. They happen as needed, not on our schedule, but charity should be consistent at all times. Everything in this passages is showing that the church having love is more important than spiritual gifts. It is not saying spiritual gifts don't matter, but love is more important.

Love is the perfect completion of all virtue. It ties into perfect fulfillment of God’s kingdom.

It is important that we continuously walk in the love of God, regardless to how we are being used, it is love that edifies, and ya I agree that concerning prophecies being spoken, and giving a word of knowledge (gift of word of knowledge), that don't occur on a consistent basis. God is the one that leads in these things. But love needs to be consistent.
